Looks like I'm buying it. I won't get to see it until sometime next week. It sounds like a good project. I'll get some pictures when I pick it up. Have a couple of fellow Hamb guys coming along to help load it.

The last one I looked at up here was just the sheet metal on the original ch***is(needing total rebuild). The metal was mediocre at best and they still wanted $2000 for it.

I started with a nice 46 $500 cab. Found a good hood for $50, front fenders for $200 and have $400 in the rears. I paid $65 for a nice set of running boards and $300 for a nice 39 frame. I just bought a new bed for $800. Damn I'm almost there and only have $2300 in the sheet metal and all metal. Yes it still can be done but always nice if you can find a complete project.

I know this is a busy time of the year, but have you picked up the truck yet? If so any pics?

$2000 is almost free for what it is. I looked for quite a while to find mine and people asked $10,000 for rusted pieces. If you like early Fords like I do, you will probably NEVER find another deal like this. What is the saying? A NO BRAINER! I thought mine was a steal at $15,000

  10. I still kick myself for missing one at an auction a couple years ago that had sat so long it looked like it was going to come out in two pieces, the frame at the kickup was rotted so bad. Someone had decorated the hood with Buick-style portholes, otherwise it was all stock.

I'd find the $2000 somewhere, besides the '48-50, the '41 is my favorite.

Well as per my other posting I finally picked it up. I have the ch***is, engine and trans on my driveway. The rest I have moved to a rented storage unit. Watch this space for the build up.
