Hot Rods turned my rambler into a gasser or straight axle car

    car has been in my back yard for awhile with a bad front end and i wanted to turn into a race car for sometime now so between rain storms i got out the saw and went for it

    6cylinder ,,5speed like a 300ford or 292 chev ..The car is different ,,,,,,,make the driveline different .Lookin good

    Looks like you cut the front frame out of it. Got any pictures of what you did with the frame. I been gathering ideas for the one I have. I am planning to built into a straight axle car.

    As for a 300 L6 ford you will have to cut the fire wall. There about 31 -32 inches between the fire wall and radiator. right now that the root I'm looking to go.

    i put a full frame with a pinto frontend in it and a sbc about 15 years ago
    this is howw it looks under the hood right now
    im going to set the motor back further and a new fire wall

    I was there in the fifties.
    I remember the kind of person who would buy a rambler and I remember what traditional hotrodders thought about those cars and their owners back then

    That's what makes them neat. Hot rodders were able to see through the nerdy aspect and take advantage of a small light body.

    I had a Rambler wagon that I was going to build, but some kids tried to steal it. I had left the keys in it because I knew it was almost out of gas. They didn't get out of the driveway before it quit. They got pissed and lit it on fire.

    I couldn't see anything neat about Ramblers in the 50's when I was a kid, but I sure can see it now!
