Hey, is it true that 1949 to 1954 chevrolet passenger car frames are interchangeable?

thanks for the suggestion. the track is the same, the wheelbase is the same I guess my real question is about the body mounts. I dont know if you can look that up.

I was suggesting that you look up the part numbers for the frame.

they are very close but not directly interchangeable. But I suppose with enough time and good welding skill they might be. What are you trying to do?

I have 3 more or less complete cars. 2 of them are 4doors and my 2door is the roughest of the three. I was considering changing the front end and differential to latter model stuff and then selling them. aftermarket chassis go 8 or 9 grand. I figure I can upgrade a stock one and sell it for half that. I was wondering if it would fit more than just the two years

All the Chevy frames from 37 thru 54 and up to 62 in Corvettes look the same but I'm sure there are differences. Body mounts probably. They all were 112" wheel bases. How about an S-10, don't they fit anything. :D

well almost, the frames are the same, only 2 frame supports are different

the front brace by the front door post and the 4th row by the rear axle,

you can change the braces if you want
