wow...the front ones are disconnected in the picture Oh...I guess someone bypassed the original connector, the wire from the hood runs thru a hole in the firewall instead of to the connector.
Very nice, but please don't lower it, I think your idea of leveling it out is good. Its a truck and too big and bulky to be low. You got something pretty good for the price, enjoy!
If it were me I would already have some bleach white on those tires and cleaned up. If you could figure out a way to mount some dog dish caps on those wheels or some trimmed off edge, full caps inserted back inside the wheels dish,( hiding the spokes) the dish on em would look good after painting them white, silver, grey etc. (low budget idea)
I am trying to decide if I am going to switch over to 5 lug wheels. That will determine alot of what look I go for.
Does it have a Dana 44 or 60 rearend? They usually say, big number cast on the top front, or small number on a bottom corner. Either way, might be interesting if you want to keep that rearend. You could swap a 73-87 truck rear into it, but they're wider. Also the 73-87 truck front suspension/brakes can be adapted relatively easily. Those trucks are 5 on 5" bolt pattern.
Too bad you are not closer.I have a great set of slots I took off of my 65 when I did the 5 lug conversion.I had to pass up a 63 gmc suburban custom cab recently. No money for another project. The disc brake and p/s upgrade makes these trucks alot more fun to drive.
I used the front suspension from a 78 1/2 ton and bought a weld on adapter for the p/s from captfab on the http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/.I had to slot 2 holes an drill 2 more for the crossmember and you will need to drill holes for the drag link pivot and sway bar.I also adapted the power brakes from the 78.Lots of good info on the 67-72 forum. You can even keep 6 lug up front by using rotors from a light duty 1992 3/4 6 lug truck.Good luck!
