I have a friend doing a 28 hot rod. He has a 1953 Flatty and just bought an automatic out of a 53 Ford flatty. He has no flexplate or cover for the finned converter. Any ideas on where to get one? The guy he bought it from said there is no flexplate.
    Thanks

If i remember correctly he's also going to need the crank of an automatic backed flatty. something about the rear crank snub.

'51-3 flatheads had a recess in the back of the crank to accept hub of coupler. Flex plate is a rectangle about the size of a license plate, crank pattern in middle, connects with just a couple bolts on each side. Have one, don't know if I can find it.
Using one of those things sounds like a really bad idea...

Found one on Chrome Czars board. He does need the bolts and a front section of a drive shaft to weld to the one he's useing for the modern rearend.
