What is That?

    Any body have a clue what's hanging below the rear bumper in this shot?I know the tow lines for the chute are attached to it, but the shape looks familiar.Kinda reminds me of something off of farm machinery.

    Tail skid?

    Look closely and you can see part of another one inside the wheel house.

    I'm not real worried about what it was used for but what it might have been made out of.p.s. I know it was steel,before some one jumps in with the obvious.

    Looks like an old carriage step so a short guy could pack the chute!

    As I believe the full name of the car was the Funny Farmer having a reversed plow blade as a wheelie skid bar isn't all that far out.
