The 32 Coupe....wasn't it either a 5 window or that heavily customized quad canted headlight thingy on the album? I don't remember ever seeing a chopped 3 window in their history....but then, I'm getting "up there" and the memory thing ain't what it used to be.

Interesting watch. I will now read Brian's book.

  2. Actually, according to the book "Wouldn't It Be Nice" the car belonged to his "409" co-songwriter, Roger Christian... He was actually the car guy, and you will see in the music credits, his name, for "Little Deuce Coupe", "409" "Shut Down" and most other car related songs the Beach Boys did early in their careers.
I guess you can tell I'm a Brian Wilson / Beach Boys fan 8=)
Another interesting tidbit.. the Jan and Dean Hit "Surf City" (I got a 34 wagon and we call it a Woody..) was written by Brian... he GAVE the song to Jan and Dean, who, obviously, made a #1 hit out of it. Murry, pissed off at Brian for giving away a hit song, beat the **** out of him.
And if you ever listen to "Catch A Wave" by the Beach Boys, and "Sidewalk Surfin" by Jan and Dean, side by side, they are the same song, same chords, same everything, except for the lyrics...
Brian got sued by Chuck Berry for "Surfin' USA"because it was basically the same song as (IIRC) "Sweet Little 16"... I think Mr. Berry lost on that plagiarism suit, again, IIRC...

I was going to go see the BB in 65, but got a ticket for riding a go-cart on the highway. Mom used my concert money to pay the ticket.

The TV presentation sort of ****ed, with six minutes of commercials every few minutes. I finally figured out that I could watch the clock, when they went to commercial break, change channels, and come back exactly six minutes later.

Don't know if you can call this guy a garage band? Speaking of 409.
