It's a 19?? Impalla SS as the picture implies. Looks to be a late 60's early 70's. Not a Chevy guy. 327 badges on the side. It's rusting away in the back of my friends tow yard so i went over and popped the hood. Curious what it is as I might be able to strip some parts off it for my build. Is this a SBC? I have a 63' 327 and need brackets and pulleys. I'm also gonna get the 327 badges ; )
Looks to be a '65 Chevy, but that ain't no Chevy motor. It looks like an Olds but better ID guru's than I will have to chime in. Frank
Olds. The oil filler, the coolant byp*** neck, the valve covers. As to what Olds, try here: http://www.442.com/oldsfaq/ofeng.htm
Its not the original engine and its not a small block chebby. Looks like an olds motor. A better pic of the car might help but from the little piece I see its about a '65/66 Impala SS.
Last one of those I had sold in all of 10 days with no motor in it at all. Believe that's a '66. Motor is an Olds, as mentioned. You can probably buy nice repop 327 badges pretty cheap as opposed to trying to pry those off and probably breaking them in the process -
Can't tell from the photos if it's a small block or big block Olds. There is a casting number on the small shelf above the water pump that will tell you. The EGR intake is 1973-newer, but you don't know if it's original to that motor. There is also a letter or number cast onto each head near the No. 1 and No. 8 plugs that will help identify it.
