There are quite a few fibergl*** T body builders out there for 27 T's and I was curious what other people had gone with and what their thoughts were.

I'm building a 27 Roadster with full fenders. I have a rolling ch***is right now without the drivetrain (going to go with a Ford smallblock, possibly a 351W). I'm on deployment right now to Afghanistan, so I want to know what I should be looking for when I get home. How do you like your fibergl*** body from whomever and would you buy it again...?

Thanks for any help! I'm really excited to get home from this **** hole of a third world country and start on my T!!!

Oh, btw, I've been in contact with Cl*** Gl*** Performance (http://www.cl***gl***performance.com/27 Ford.html) about their body that they offer. I've also been looking at Speedway Motors and also a company called Spirit Industries. Any opinions on them??? THANKS!

  2. spirit or speedway.
    both nice and heavy.

that cl*** gl*** stuff looks nice, just not feeling the door hinges.

    also...
might be a good idea to go to tbucketeers and national tbucket alliance sites for opinions.

I have a 'gl*** 27T from Unlimited Products and I have to admit it's pretty rough. I knew it would be for the price but I was ok with it since it will basically be a racecar. The doors and trunk are molded in and it will be a bear to make them function. I have heard that the poly form bodys are very nice!

  5. First of all Matt, Thank you for your service. If I were building a gl*** T, I would use Spirit Industries body. I have been to their shop, looks like quality work. Their willing to take you back and show you what they do. Great people. My 2 cents...

  6. I was on some site the other day. It might have been Speedway's site. Speedway is developing a new kit. It is kind of a track t. It is not full fendered. I thought it was pretty cool and the price was about $8900.00. I think the kit will be out this year.

My post is not about "quality", but size... (yeah, yeah... ha ha, all jokes aside). I noticed that Cl*** Gl*** offers a 3" wider-than-stock body. I would STRONGLY recommend looking into that body. When I was building my 26 roadster, I was lucky enough to score an original 32 frame. To make them fit, I widened the body 3 1/2". That little bit has made a huge difference and it's does not make the car look goofy or out of proportion. I have sat in stock width T roadsters and it's almost weird how that little bit extra makes it much more comfortable.

Just my 2 cents and stay safe over there so you can get back here and start building!!!

I appreciate all the feedback gentleman! I'd love to hear more! Anyone have experience buying from Spirit? I'll probably go with them but want to hear how easy it was for you guys to get it together.. Was their shipping reasonable? I'm going to email them shortly for more info too..

    Thanks again!

Step one: Get your **** back here safely! And thanks for your service.

Step two: Spirit - I've seen their bodies and ridden in one. They're not as cheap as Speedway, but way better finish and build quality IMO.

    Good luck with the project.

I would also check Spirit. Had to do a little work on the seams, but other than that it was pretty straight. I would definetly get the floor installed because thry are double layered with honeycomb in between. Shipping was only $100 from Arkansas to North Carolina.

I have only bought parts from Spirit, they are great. My roadster is going to have a body from RPM (Ron Pope Motorsports).

check out my profile, got pics of my fathers spirit kit. they are really easy to deal with there, the buying experience was great, they gave us a tour of the entire place. I actually bought just a frame from them, they customized it to my measurements for the same price as a stock one. they do buy most of their stuff from speedway, so when you get pieces to complete the kit, thats where most of it comes from. their body was pretty darn straight as delivered. pay the extra and have the door, floor and interior insert done by them-you wont regret that part. They were also helpful in getting the old mans ***led. Good luck onthe build, keep your head down over there!!!
