need help 1947 chevy fleetline

    the problem that i have is rust, I replaced the trunk and the rear under the trunk panel where the rear lights go . the panel from chevys of the forties does not have the tail light platforms stamped in them. the rusty ones on the old panel are unsalvageable not interested in frenching or custom lights what do i do.:confused:

  5. You might explore making a hammer mold to put the "dome" for the tail light housings in some larger pieces of sheet metal, then cut the housing hole and trim to fit the car.

    I believe hammer molds have been covered here but google will also turn up how-to info.
