bored off my ass looking on ebay i came across this seat that can be ordered in any legnth and looks low enough to work in my A pick up what do you think ???? http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=33701&item=7959440344&rd=1
Not bad Slag, but it'll need to be reupholstered to look correct in your Model A. You might as well save yourself the money and just make a seat
im getting tired of making every part for it . I e-mailed the guy to see what kinds of fabric i could get it done in since they would have to ake each cover to fit a custom size.
Kinda pricy in my opinion. I would get a middle Dodge Caravan seat and have it redone and then ise the $300 in savings for other parts.
Can't be any Worse than flying in a Cessna 152...!!! Not a pretty site with two 200 plus Lb. guys..., with their arms hanging out the windows and the other arm over the other guys shoulder...!!!
http://markvfiberglass.com/catalog/seats/benchseatI.html similar shape...only 36" wide though....and only 50 bucks not probably the best choice, kinda looks cheap but for 50 bucks...better than 345 plus 120 shipping
still waiting to get an e-mail back from the guy about diffrent upolstry for the seat but it is listed as This auction is for one brand new PRP Black Bench seat. This Product is Custom Made to Order & Requires a 2 Week Lead Time. - 24" Tall X 26" Deep - Benches available in custom widths from 34" to 72" - Mounting Area: 18" Front to Back.
Has anyone ever seen the Caravan seat in leather? Seems all the leather equipped ones I come across are the Chrysler version with all bucket seats.
I would be tempted to get the Caravan seat and use it as is and save even more. Maybe the old $5 Tijuana blanket trick. We mocked up a toyota pickup seat in my buddy's 37 Chev p/u, looked good, the 37 may be a little wider tho. Randy
NO You can buy traditional seat springs instead of that crap or Dodge caravan middle will work. Around 92. Some of the earlier are to wide.
I think that is an interesting alternative pending the quality, foam thickness and if other colors are available. You get to chose the width you want which is a nice thing. I have been mocking up my Caravan seat and I think it is going to work out well. Just have to get it redone from the grey cloth to something else. The foam is contoured so that may also require a re-foaming. it all adds up in cost so the one offered above may not be a bad route..
I used a van short seat in my A coupe with a seat cover from JC Whitney total cost in 92 was $200. seat & covers I traded the bucket covers for parts set up came with bench cover and two bucket covers.
The guy just got back to me on colors and fabrics and gave me a link to the choices there are alot of choices and i might be able to come up with something really good for under $350 link to fabrics and colors http://www.racing-seats.com/bench/colors.cgi
