This is my first hot rod project. Ive been thinking and more thinking and dont know if sub fram is for me. ive got a 49 gmc pickup and a 70's nova sub frame. idk wat to do any ideas?
First off, do an intro so we know who you are and what you are all about. 2nd... If you are just after an al***ude adjustment a dropped axle is a cleaner more traditional option. Subframes are 80s tech anymore (at-least for AD trucks). Buy a weld in cross member kit if you are intent on ifs. Search is your friend... Type this into google: "keywords" site:jalopyjournal.com Goodluck to you!
lots of good reasons not to subframe one of those. the only good reason to do it is little or no money.
i love how people just cant come on the forum and be nice or positive towards another.... good looking out there purduesd as for your gmc..... find out what u can spend... sub frames are pretty cheap but alot of work to do. s10 frame swap is easier for a novice, buy the bodymount kit . and an s10 ch***is is usually around the same price as a clip. then theres mustang 2's that are easily done but that falls into your budget,
ok ive neen told to do a intro. my name is john and ive been into hotrods since i could say car. im 19 and i own a 49 gmc pickup. this will be my first hotrod project. It started to be a ratrod got to looking and decided to go more hot rod with it small block with turbo 350 ******. thats were i run into should a sub frame or no sub frame
