Wow...thats nutty. I'd drive it though. Looks like a 3 wheeler??? I've got a soft spot for 3 wheelers...I even dig the hell outta micro cars....

Here's a shot of the interior. Not real roomy, but functional. I started with an old VW engine/transaxle and built a 2x3 frame off the tortion bar housing. Built a coil-over front suspension and used the VW column and steering box. The body was made out of lots of conduit and then covered with steel. It handles very good. Many people think it would be unstable, but it sticks to the road very good.

You know, with a paint change and different wheels that thing could have been right out of the late sixties...

Here are a couple trikes I built, both with GM 2.8 V-6's. I built everything on them, including the 'gl*** bodies. When's the last time you flew it? Just kiddin, that's quite creative. Ingenuity rivals traditional any day.

 

Got a neighbor with one similar.Illinois had to give him a waiver for his bike license because it wouldn't fit in the bike driver's test area.

I think its cool to look for similarities in different types of vehicles, and compare them to Traditional Hot Rods and Customs.
( We can learn a lot by seeing how "our" cars link to others History and Technology wise )

But I dont see any similarities here...Sorry.


Didn't Roth built a Trike with a Allison in it? ( or was that somebody else? )

yeah we been down this road , how about morgans and other three wheelers from the old days , i have seen some customs of those, anyhow here is the cruise missle, the roth trike, oh yeah it crashed big time also,

Because it doesn't have the "Ed Roth Seal of Approval"?

Three wheel "hotrods" are as old as the automobile.
The first car of record, a Daimler, was a three wheeler.
And then there was also Morgan, and AC.
Yes the first "cars" built by the Cobra parent company, AC, were three wheelers and last tim I heard they were still making them. and all AC cobra body style "cars" are hotrods because they run the "buyer's engine of choice"

So if it doesn't belong becasue it was built after the glory years of the 40s and 50's then virtually none of the cars anyone owns on this board belong.

The body style goes back to the 60's and I do believe 60's style cars get away with being on this board.
Maybe it has a Mexican VW engine in it and therefore an engine of "North American origin"...

Some people have no tolerance at all, and that's not very fun.

Granted...this thing was built in the '80s and it looks a 70's or 80's thing....
But at the heart of this its absolutely no different than the "Futurian" or howsabout Roth's "Road Agent"...

Like was just stated, Roth built many trikes in his day.

I dont think it was...
The first one was a Steam powered Trike built by Joseph Cugnot in 1770.
I believe the vehicle Daimler built was more of a Motorcycle with small "training wheels" on both sides...

Ed roth's latter designs are terrible, and that's what it looks like.
