I Just saw this on the news. Poor guy broke down in tears. Said it was like losing his kids. Get the word out!!!! http://auto.ocregister.com/2011/01/...nd-missing-hot-rod-like-a-fugitive-now/48872/ Just saw there is another ongoing thread regarding this.I thought it was new when i saw it 20 mins ago.
There is another thread running on this car..lots of people badmouthing the value, having the car in a trailer, even degrading the town he lives in...KARMA is a ***** kids. Just sayin!
I saw that story. I feel for the guy. Looked like a pretty sweet ride from the photo shown on the news. Hope the coppers find the *****(s) that stole it. Jeff
What a balls-out theft.. and what is the crook going to do with it? Surely nothing in the current configuration. Options, a foreign sale or part it out. Sad either way. Bob
And when the loser that stole the car is dying from AIDS I bet he has no idea there KHARMA has come from!!
That ****s if the cars that hot it would probably be parted out. If they want to find it look on ebay in a few weeks.....................one piece at a time. Hope the guy had insurance.
good to see it was found. hope they hang the guy who did it and close down the so called shop they found it in.
Said to be undamaged. http://auto.ocregister.com/2011/01/...len-hot-rod-has-been-found-arrest-made/49038/
I am glad he got the car back.... Why are people storing their cars in trailers???? Hate to sound harsh, but its making it oftly easy for these ****ers!!!!!
Details! We need details! What was the body shop's plan for it (as if I don't already have a good idea)?
Something smells about this story. Not accusing anybody of anything but first you have a guy telling the news that his sub-hundred K car is worth a quarter million. Then the car is found hidden undamaged in a auto body shop where the owner has been involved in a previous insurance scam. Glad he got his car back, but this story might be more interesting than just a common theft.
lol! sounds like insurance scam gone bad to me! not to be negative but it sure sounds that way to me?
Uh huh. There's more to this story. and let me be the first on this thread to call the area 'garbage grove', because it ****s. I would've guessed a real thief would tear that car to pieces immediately.
yea dont think it was a scam, the news just showed and said that they found a similar car hauler in front of the body shop, a few weeks before this car being stolen. so they went to do a check on the shop, looked around and found the car covered in the back! under blankets! nothing has been released about the suspect. but they showed the car back with the owner. funning thing about the whole thing is, the guy parked it in the hauler cause he had no room in his garage! what a *****, he just made it easier for the thief! they said he made room for the car in the garage! thats where it should have been parked in the first place!!! not that a garage would stop a thief, if they want it they will try just about anything to take it!
Sounds like insurance scam for dummys gone bad to me!!.......I have seen this happen before.....I would just about bet that the car was taken too the body shop a few weeks before it was reported Stolen....By the owner with his own trailer, And someone saw it there....Then When this story on the local news came out every one was looking for this car and trailer He or she prolly gave police the tip that they had seen a trailer like that at the body shop a few weeks earlier.... When they checked it out Wa LAA!!!.....Interesting to see what the body shop guy (partner in crime) what his story will be....LOL.....I am not saying that this is the case here, But I have seen this same senerio played out before.....just my 2 cents I think that if it would have been really stolen, The thief would have had to know that the car was in the trailer and not in the guys garage....And a real thief that steals a car like this is not going to take it down the street a little ways and put it in his shop under a blanket....It would have been planned and taken several miles away and taken apart within a few hours......As far as the coverage on this story we will never here how it turns out, But I think when the police is done investgating.....The owner of this car is going to be lucky to not go to jail.....
^^ Boy Cowtown Speed Shop, you're a real fart smeller... Err, smart feller. As for the 250k car and the scammers- Getta Rope!!
Hate to see all these losses lately and it's getting worse as the New Year rolls on. Time to think about installing a device on your hot rod to prevent loss or aid in recovery.
a guy came to my job yesterday and told me he is a niebor of this guy and that he usally leaves this car in the trailer with NO tongue lock and he said he even asked the guy once wasnt he worried about someone stealing it and the owner said naw! its insured for $350,000 hmm??
