Man I hope the shop labor rates are cheap in Finland! The car looks great and I think its cool that your using whatever parts you can get your hands on. Ive seen good builders look at cars in the junk yard and go that roof has the same curve as my rear fender and then cut it out and use it even if its off a Toyota. I cant tell you how many times my buddy has said something like this is a 29 Pontiac rear door the reveal on this door is exatly the same as the reveal on my 34, then he uses the thing. Its the end product that counts.

Actually they aren't... But this way was still cheaper than buy and ship something from abroad. I can truly see what are you telling! The people involved in kustoms or hot rods often think the way you descripted. "Hmm, nice tail light in that Fiat, how would it suit into my '32... OK, maybe that was too much, but Opel and Dodge look good in a Ford for sure!

    krupanut:
Thank you! You can come to check this out when ready!

To be honest, costs were pretty much, first the project car itself, then the rear from a collector and now the job done (you can quess how much costs 100 hours professional work, I won't tell :) ), but I think this is worth it!

Now what I have to do is save some money to have a pair of Deuce rails... What I already do have are repaired SBC+TH350+10bolt combo, a new Super Bell 4in axle, nice 39-Linc pedals, steering and dash and so on.

Now some welding, hammering, grinding, sandblasting, well, you know!

    Later, Mika

I agree! I wouldn't believe that Dodge 1/4 would fit so well. Oh, I have forgotten to tell you: The rear had been narrowed down a years ago and now the width was perfect for Model A! And I have no idea in which car this rear has been in the 70'ies when drag raced!

But I won´t take the glory, because I didn't have to guide Sakke. The man got the eye! He told me how much to chop top and he created the main lines. I brought him some pictures and drawings to show him what I want and he made it. What is amazing, he even bent the back wall just perfect! It used to be totally different in the original Tudor Sedan which can be seen in the first pictures!

    WOW!!!

Congrats on nailing the look down with that combination! That is going to have a lot of people wondering why it looks so damned cool! And to think that people over here complain about the few regulations that we have to put up with.

So if you chop just the front posts, weld it up and grind it down so you cant tell, pee on it to make it rust faster, then come back and take a picture next to a ruler when it is all nicely rusted and matching a couple weeks later that would be proof of original, then you could chop an additional 16%, right?

Should be a great looking car, I love the way you have pieced it together from parts.

Oh and can't he just spray a salt/water solution on it to aquire the needed rust faster? If he wanted to go that illegal route that is.

  15. Windshield frame is actually a piece of sh.. I mean rust. Still I hope you can use it.

Coupe looks good but I hope you get T ready for next summer. You really have couple uncommon projects on your shop.

Getting my T-Tudor ready for the next summer might be a hard task but I have been very ***iduous with my new coupe last days at least. I completed all tack-weldings, repaired the front of the subframe and A-pillars, dis***embled the cowl for sandblasting, repaired some rust damages etc.

Today I will continue my model T and make some cowl steering...

Would you mind telling us how much this cost you? There is no way 100 hours of shop labor in a fabrication shop in the US could be had for less than $5,000 US,and even that would be a "Rabbi deal".

Well, then this was the a "rabbi deal" for me, but I can´t tell the accurate price because Sakke is sort of friend of mine, he restores cars for living and he gave me some discount. Let´s say the labor costs were near $1400. The rusty project body and the back end cost the same together. So it's still cheaper than an original coupe-body brought from The US.

  21. That really looks Killer at***udor.........I cant get over the match in different body brand/parts!
If a suggestion would not offend you -consider this,.....leave off the visor-and Rebuild the area above windshield to more resemble a 32 fords header panel, with rounded upper corners on windshield frame too......
I did this on a 29 sedan and it really rounds out "the look".......

That's exactly what I thought when I saw the pics!! Sometimes you just have to go with what you got and make a hotrod........or not!! It's really looking good and looks like great workmanship!:D
    Good luck,

hehe,,, its amazing how the wheels get to turning in your head after you get something "finished" (as they NEVER are really finished...) and someone looks at your car an says something like "what if you . . ."

thats what is so much fun about rodding. its one of the only places where the fact that "everyone has an opinion and likes to voice it" actually comes in handy and also it keeps everyones ride slightly different from the last one to roll along. :D
