great pics and a cool shop. Neat little history of your building. You guys definitely got your shit together. stay cool
Shop looks awesome guys! COMING SOON.... across the tracks a old skool shop with an old gas station theme. also a paint booth that's under construction. METALINGUS CC Concord-Kannapolis NC
Wow, I was just in NC for two weeks. I really wished I would have known about the shop being open on Wednesdays.
That first shot of the tudor is completely timeless.... think I'm gonna have to steal it for my desktop . .
Thanks to Curt Baker and Blam! for the pics!! It is not very easy to forget what a great time we have all created together here in Concord. The tight bond of brotherhood usually created by things like war or bath houses. Good friends. Killer cars and trucks. And most of all, just plain good people. I could not ask for a better bunch of friends. Del was right on in his post. Concord was always a little behind and there wasn't always a lot to do in town. We created something out of nothing. And if we can do it, so can you! Stop bitching and get out there and make it happen cap'n!!! We have got it made in the shade with pink lemonade!! If you're close, come by and say hey! If you're not close, come anyway.
ILCC shop is outta bounds, that is for sure...exp. with one of the orginal walk up Mcdonalds across the street that now fancys itself as an ice cream shoppe. Location, location. With 2 vintage style clubs, shop club houses within a few miles and seperated by railroad tracks,.....should make the concord-kannapolis area intersting.
I wasnt around in 62, just going on what i have heard. I know in the mid 90s they filmned a commercial or movie scene from that location and had it redone to look like a McDonalds from 1960's. Looked the part..... I was always told and early McD.....either way cool old tiled building.
Don't sound like the welcome wagon will be stopping by!! METALINGUS CC Concord-Kannapolis NC <!-- / sig -->
Kool pic, Hate I missed out been going most every wed night for about 2 months, never felt more welcome than I do when I come down there. Can't say when I'll get down there agin working some long hours at work. I'm looking foward to the next Shop Night with the Iron Lords.
It wasn't a McDonalds. There was a Dairy Queen along there in the 50's and 60's. The Hardee's was a walk up in the 60's, it is about a tenth of a mile from the Iron Lords Shop though.
What do you mean? Honestly, we have such a good time every Wednesday. It's so cool that new people stop by almost every week. Box50, we can't wait to see the shoebox!! BloodyKnuckles
Quote: What do you mean? I have met you Bk and a few other lords on a wednesday night or out at Don's and everyone was cool that I talked to. The welcome wagon post was posted all in good fun because I honestly thought one of the Lords club members would step up and be like "hell yeah we need more car guys and are happy to see another car club in the Concord/kannapolis area that share the same types of interests let us know if we can help in anyway" It is what it is I guess.. METALINGUS CC Concord-Kannapolis NC <!-- / sig -->
Well, I must admit, you threw us for a loop. We actually talked amongst ourselves wondering who you guys were. I honestly couldn't be more excited to have more guys and other clubs in our area. We would love to spend more time and check out your new shop. You guys need to stop by this Wednesday and give us the scoop!! Hope to see you there. BloodyKnuckles
These guys are the best and Wen nights are a great break in the middle of a long work week. My job doesn't let me go every Wen but I try. Great fun an lots of BSing by all. Hope to see everyone this Wen. Later guys
Should make for a good car club/car scene in the concord-ktown area. Two clubs, Two shops, Twenty-11 should be a fun ride....
Keep those caps Slimfast but if you are getting rid of them one of the Iron Lords named Jeremy would be interested.
