Like some of the other dudes, I finally found a site I feel comfortable bsing on. I tried to build a couple of rods in the 60's but could never afford to really do a final/painted car. Our group found something that had wheels, sent to J.C.Whitneys for a bellhousing converter to SBC, changed it to 12 volt and drove it. A year of two later we put lights on after being threatened by the local fuzz. My intentions were to build another when I retired. When I did retire I was in for an shock when I got on the rod trail. I still can't afford the darn things. BUT I can build a safe car and that's my aim. In 07 I sold a 36 Ford PU to a nephew and in 08 I decided to do a 30 rat. I would rather have a street rod but it aint gonna happen, not with my ***ets so it's going to be a rat in appearance. I hope to bump into some of you at the local cruises. Rod

Hey welcome! Just as a heads up, the guys on here are gonna give you a very hard time if you keep using the "r" word.
Hello from Louisville. Just showed up here a few days ago myself. Seems like a pretty good group here.
Hi everybody. Attempted some sheetmetal work after the kids left today. yes, on Christmas day, I run hot-n-cold with trying to build a street rod and fab on it when it hits me. (notice I said "street rod" at my age it's odd that someone tells me I can't use certain words on a blog when I was messing with rods before some were born.) True, I'm not up to date on current car buildng as I was out of the loop for years and there's so many things you can't find in the bone yards like a builder could years ago. I appreciate the Kentucky site, thanks fuel10922
Yea ummmm like he said, easy on the r word and you will love this place. And it will love you back............Welcome......
