Can you give me a reason why I would want a fuel pump cut out switch in addition to my oil pressure fuel cut out switch. I have a Kem low oil pressure fuel pump cut out switch located at the back of my motor by the distributor. This senses oil pressure and if my pressure goes out it stops my fuel pump.(stalled condition) I saw somewhere that you can have a manual fuel pump switch with this as well and I was wondering why I would want to do that? In the middle of rewiring the rod and trying to make the best decisions possible. I have a Holley Electric Fuel Pump and Kem oil pressure switch

    It's a very simple anti-theft device.
I've hidden them in a lot of places, radios and even other unused switches

  3. Well they put inertia switches in modern cars so if there is an accident or upset(rollover) it shuts the fuel off so if there is a leak it doesn't continue to pour out on your sorry burning ***! It's better than oil pressure switch triggered one as often your motor will continue to run even after an accident.

Main reason for oil cut out is if the vehicle rolls over. If the fuel pump continues to run when the engine is upside down, the fuel will run out the intake and ect. An upside down engine wont have oil pressure for long :) .

As for the manual switch, I think its basically more insurance and peace of mind having a way of killing the engine other than the key.

In addition because there could be an issue while they engine or electrical is on and you need to shut down fuel in an emergency. The oil pump wont know theres a problem outside of its self.
