Bitchen'! ... I especially liked the way you teased us in third gear... made me want to rewind it and listed to it again. Sam.
Sam, I had to start lifting a little bit, those railroad tracks were coming up pretty quick. no front brakes sucks, but I love the way it looks, and it still stops pretty good. Dude that little drag car you built is sweet man. Bad ass picture from smokersfield. Thanks again everybody for appreciating the video, Its making me want to fix a bunch of stuff on the car thats been bothering me for years. Jimmy White

Jimmy, that car belongs in Austin this weekend. Hope to see you soon.....I may be coming your way in Jan for a visit.
El Jefe, hows it going man? I am bummed I didnt get to hook up with you over the Paso weekend. Its funny you mention about bringing the car down there. I wanted to try and tidy it up a little bit, add a roll bar and some other safety accesories and go racing with you guys. Unfortunately I am way to busy. I really wanted to come out to Texas and hang out with you guys. Give me a call when you get into town. Jimmy White
I loved that sound...can't get much better than that. also i loved the camera guy getting pushed back because you can see it in the video. awesome ride!
Yo! For all you Mac operators! We've put the Hemi vid and the El MIrage vid online in Quicktime format... So you can check it out now in the video section. Thanks, Maurice...
Oh man I just soiled myself...in a good way. That really got me fired up my coupe. Thanks for the ride Jimmy.
[ QUOTE ] And the above are prolly my two favorite sounds in the world... Add a stout flathead and low cube, mutli-valve, F1 motor to the mix and you have the four most pure automotive sounds in the world... [/ QUOTE ] To respond to Ryans love for the amazing sounds of a F1 motor, here the techs have programmed the engine to hit certain revs and made the motor sing the song "When the saints come marching in"!! Read about how they achieved it, its really awesome!! http://insiders3.ezboard.com/fmoresportsfrm7.showMessage?topicID=13.topic
you put the hemi, SBC, Flattie and F1 as your 1,2,3,4. I put my vote in for a Pontiac to round out out the top five. When a Poncho is really built well it is the kind of sound that just rips through your body like you are a paper doll.
Way cool stuff. Anybody remember the vid of the BIG motor? I think it was a V-16. Kinda teal in color. I think the guy was from Sweden. No exhaust manifolds... just belched fire and sounded wicked!
Man ! Very cool ! Especially cool how the camera goes back every time he bangs a gear. Mrgasser told me about the clip. I'd like to see more clips like that.
I still got jack shit. The little movie camera does nothing - Explorer or Netscape - doesn't matter. Never saw anything alluding to a Quicktime anything. I'll just sit here and watch my other videos I guess.
Hey Grimlock, Did you try (in IE) File->Open-> then enter this line http://www.chello.nl/~b.vos/videos/jimmywhite.wmv or click here look boss its a hemi ... yes tatoo it brings just two guests hope this helps... later, papa al
Doh! Sorry Grimlock ... I just noticed my original post had the same sort of info. I would ask the webmaster guys to email you the file.. later, papa al
if the guy lookin for motor info hasnt found it this hsould take you there http://www.deadendcruisers.com/index2.html i think.... other wise look at featured rides and find it, good article tim
Here is the motor info. Just seeing this video clip cost me $1400 tonight. I bought a 331 Hemi with Jahn's pistons, 6 strombergs, and lasalle tranny tonight because I loved the way this thing sounded...that clip was awesome.... The block is an early 331cui that is bored 0.125 inches by Reath Automotive. The heads are 354 industrial pieces. The valves are original ones, which are actuated by an original Sig Erson top fuel solid lifter cam, which is reground by Clay Smith. Further, the motor runs a stock crank on which Jahns pistons with a 10.5:1 compression are mounted. All this is backed by a McLeod clutch and an early cast iron Borg Warner T-10 transmission, a custom Unitrax driveshaft and a tri-year Chevy rearend. 8 Inch Hurst cheaterslicks on '49 Chevy steelies bring the power to the road and up front Good Year Speedgrips can be found on Halibrand spindle-mount wheels.
