lol nope, but I also highly doubt anyone on this thread is talking about commercial trucks or sedans or panel deliveries. If you just count coupes and roadsters I believe Ford made less than 100,000 in 1932. (anyone have the exact breakdown?)

I have no idea whether the quote is accurate or not, I just saw it online and thought it was interesting. Is that sort of information available from the DMV? It would actually be really cool to see if that "statistic" is true, or whether it's just an urban legend floating around...

According to most people that look at my 5-W, is that they had one when they were younger and were sorry they sold it or always wanted one.

You got to remember there is alot of companies making repro parts. There are over 35 companies that make just the roadster bodies, so the book might be right, more 32 fords in California than what was actually factory made.

Lost count on how many I've built. They've been much better than money in the bank. I'm down a little right now only got 4.

    What I wanted was a 5W coupe.

I'm still amazed that I was able to find one that had survived the oval track racers, the scrap drives, and every unfortunate Hot Rodding trend, and was in buildable condition.
Out of the 51,794 that left the factory.

A couple of people said I payed too much, but I was OK with it.
And I could have sold it for more soon after I bought it.

    I turned that offer down.
One of these days I'll start building it.
( and I know I couldn't afford to buy one like it today...)

At one time I had 6 36 Fords, and came to the realization that the 32 was the Holy Grail. It has an attraction for Me that I cant explain. I've been fortunate enough to own 33'S, 34'S, 35'S, 36'S, 37'S, 39'S, AND 40'S, but the 32 Ford is the one for me. My friend Wayno in California has had over 100 32 Fords throughout his life allready, I dont know if theres anyone out there that can top that. I've had roughly 20 including the four that I still have. Its all good, I love all the Fords, and some Chevys too. Lets have fun with it.

That adds up to 276,906 :D
Not counting pickups and other commercial 32 Fords. Or overseas built Deuces.

So lets say that HALF of the original Henry Ford issues Deuces survived ( undoubtly a high estimate ... due to scrap drives, wrecks, racing and general usage ). That leaves 138,453 original steel Deuces. :D So that would mean that 138 thousand repro Deuces have been made and are on the road.

Do you really believe that the repro body makers have reproduced 138 thousand bodies for the California market ?? Do you really believe that there is over a quarter of a MILLION 32 Fords in California ?? Or even the world ... ???

At 276,906 1932 Fords ( nationwide ) ... that is over 5,500 Deuces in every state of the USA. ;) Now California most likely has over 5,500 Deuces. Almost 500 32 roadsters show up every year at the L.A. Roadster show. But no other state has over a thousand ... TOPS. Some states have way less then 100. I bet my state ( South Carolina ) has less than 75. The same goes for Georgia and North Carolina.

So the myth of more 32's in California ... is just in someone's imagination.
So is the idea of more 32's now than in 1932. I wish it were TRUE ... ... so there would be more 32 parts and pieces available.

    :D :)

I've been more towards A's, particarly 29's (which i have had two) and roadsters (4 so far if cab and a chevy are counting). Now I have the wrong year seen my avatar 31 with 32 shell.
At the time I bought it I considered between it and 32 5W. I went with this because it's a roadster. I was just missed a steel repro 32 roadster.
Since that I've bought three more Model A's and sold two.
What comes to production figures there were same amount 32 5W's and 31 deluxe roadsters built.
I would consider a 32 roadster some day if not another 29. Everyone knows the 32 is bigger and better car and was the first V8 if that matters but BUT
I happen to like lower rear body shape and simplicity of Model A.

How it goes guys, have you left all other year models behind since you got your first 32 and do feel it important to be original or repro.
Or is here anyone who have had 32 but now like more some other year.

I had 13 of those darn 32s at one time, but sold off a bunch now.
I think there are six of them out in the yard now, and I dont know why I like them so much, maybe my Dad telling me ,when I was a kid, that 32s were the ones to have.Funny he never owned one until last year.

  21. I hate 32 Fords, i had to move to a bigger house with a bigger garage to store my four 32 Fords inside and it cost me most of my money, so yes i hate them.:D
BTW they were all build in Europe so you don't miss them in your production/survival numbers.

The ROADSTER was the less expensive NEW Ford in the 1932 Ford lineup. A standard 4 cylinder could be bought NEW for less than 500 dollars ... tax, title and tag ... out the door. :)

A FACT not already mentioned here is that Henry Ford had 32 different assembly plants in the USA. The one in Charlotte NC ... closed after the 1932 Ford production run ...

The V8 DeLuxe roadster would have been the top of the line roadster. It would have be available NEW in the 600/650 dollar range.

You might be surprised. How many would you think are in the small state of Iowa? I know of at least 12 original '32 Ford bodies right here in my small town of 25,000. Probably a few more I don't know about. Then there's a guy I know over in a tiny town in eastern Iowa who has at least a dozen all to himself.

I'd guess Iowa has at least a thousand, and bigger states (besides California) could have a thousand easy.

We need a HAMBer who works in the DMV to search his state's '32 count. Would be really interesting to see real facts of the registered cars. Then double it to count the projects. :)

Growing up in a small town in Arkansas the first real hot rod that I saw was a black full fendered 32 Tudor Ford sedan. That was in 1958. Fifty years later, with the help of Doc Squat and 3wLarry, I finally bought my dream car.

Perhaps the same reason my wife has fifty pair of shoes, and I don't know how many purses.

I've always liked 32's... I recently "finished" a 30 roadster. I thought it would be the same or close enough, but the 32 has a bunch of subtle details that are better than the model A. A 32 will be my next one...
