So my friends dad has a 59 plymouth suburban that he's had for a while and had gotten a mirror from some swap meet and need to find out what car the mirror is off of and what year its from cause he hasnt been able to find anything like it before. He's also lookin for a set of front fenders for his suburban that are the dual headlights. If anyone knows where he can get a set please let me know. Thanx.
You have the "rocket" in the middle of the mirror post, so to me, that would be a mirror off a mid-to-late-'50s Olds, perhaps?
You may want to check some of the "abandoned" or "sitting and rotting" threads here on the HAMB. There are photos of all kinds of cars on them. I checked one of my books and can't make out enough for positive ID, but from a distance in the photos, it looks late fifties/early sixties luxury(Caddy, Lincoln, Imperial, Desoto) hope that gives direction.
It could have pretty well been an aftermarket mirror. JC Whitney used to have several pages of them in their catalogs back in the 60's and 70's. Coast to Coast and Western Auto along with Pep Boys had racks of them too.
I think it's a Yankee aftermarket mirror, there were a few aftermarket mirror suppliers who made funky designs like that. I've got a couple pairs of odd ones.
