Had to notch the frame above the rearend, just used 3/16 plate to make the notch and box it in. I did get the tie rod drops from Sid. Just had to drill the hole in the steering arms slightly for a good fit. I did the front in about 1.5-2 hrs by myself. Super good fit.

  2. I was checking out the latest issue of Classic Trucks (March 2011) and on page 71 it looks like NovaTattoo's 57' F100 got a honorable mention with a small pic.

    Congrats. Love that truck!

  4. Thanks man, good to know! I'm looking to drop my new one about like that. Did you do anything to the springs (front or rear)? How does it ride?

  5. Gwinn2932, that truck looks very nice. Chris I deffinatly want to see pics of the new F100!!

  6. I'm getting it Monday if the weather does not turn sour, so hold yer horses!!! I'm REALLY excited though, I sold my 4x4 60 about 2 years ago...before that I owned a 1960 Ford pickup of somesort since I was 17!!! I dunno why, but they were always 60's :D

  7. Ok, I will be patient! lol. And have you seen my 59 with 60 nose? I like em to.

  9. Looks like a nice clean project man! This new one I got is a lot like it, it's not a Custom Cab either but I'm going to convert it to one.

  11. Thanks Chris, by Custom Cab you mean Big back window correct? and I would like to do the same.

  12. No, I mean yeah you could get one...but custom cabs usually had two tone paint (inside and outside), emblems on the doorsm chrome grill, stainless trim around the windshield, and some interior upgrade. I love big back windows, but thay are kinnda hard to find.

  13. Ok, I gotcha. I'm looking for the back part of a big window cab..then I will convert mine. And if you find anyone with extra chrome 60 grilles lemme know! :D

  14. OK, here she is. It's an original paint truck, which is my favorite :D Could use a new coat of paint though but VERY strait and very little rust. It was a V8 truck but now has a 250 Ford six cylinder with a 3 speed overdrive. I bought it from my friend and he said it went down the highway very well and with ease...thats what I was looking for as everything else I own is REALLY old and slow!

My plans are to make it a custom cab- chrome grill, windshield trim, emblems, ect. and eventually paint it two tone again (but inside and out). Probably lower it too. But for now drive the ol girl...just gotta get her running again, been sitting since 08.

  17. Looks nice, lucky you have the headliner..Mine is slightly warped..

  18. Thanks guys, I am stoked! My buddy drove it all the time a couple years ago, but the tranny started giving him troubles so he parked it. Gotta figure that out but came with another tranny (not an OD though). Trans in it is a floor shift OD from a mid-80's Ford pickup. Anybody know anything about those?

Nice score Chris. I bought my 58 on a whim and I love it. Can't wait to see what your gonna do

  21. Looks great Chris...dig the '56 caps on the right, and '57 caps on the left...nice that it looks to have a pretty straight tailgate. I think I may have an extra Custom cab steering wheel & trim ring that's in similar condition if you end up going that route.

If the 250" 6 is a good runner, you might want to look into a T-5. I, admittedly, don't know anything about those 3-speeds.

Perfect....You scored. You would be amazed what some Windex and fine steel wool will do for the finish. Is that original paint? Is that Nash for sale in the back ground?

  23. Hey thanks, I do have a Ford patteren T-5 laying around. Hmmmmmm...

I'd be really interested in the steering wheel, can you send me pics? PM me

    Chris

  24. I'm gonna clean her up best I can. Yes, I do belive the Nash is for sale. I can get you my friends number if you want

    Chris

  25. A lot of folks have had great success with using CLR (bathroom scale remover/cleaner) to remove surface rust/scale in situations like this. Get a big jug, but works amazingly well from all accounts.

  28. Chris,

Just noticed that yours has a pair of factory mirrors...nice treat, even though they suck for function:rolleyes:.

I would drive the wheels off of that...great looking truck Hotroddreams911:
