sorry, just my opinion, means nothing, but it looks like a christmas ornament. please don't take offense but you asked
Sweeeeet! I'm a fan of panel schemes, maybe even break it up on the hood panels. I'm assumin' the gold trim is a gold-leaf affect. And maybe break it with the reveal running back onto the door.
The "panels" are too big and the roof doesn't work. The scallops don't flow either and the all black rear is just hangin' out there.
I think the style of car you are building will make a difference. I can see a version of this on a drag car for sure. Break up the panel on the side into 2 or 3 panels maybe.
x2 also the lowness of the drawing is throwing me off.Anglias just do not look good low to me.I think I know where you're going with the paint, and I love panel painted cars with the rest of the theme in place.I seem to remember a picture thread of panel painted cars....you should do a search for inspiration.
less is better. i really like the color combination - very rich and dignified. leave the panel on the side only. hood and top just black. maybe just some much smaller scallops on the leading edge of the hood, fenders and right above the windshied? leading band about 1-1/2"1 wide and taper back about 8" max. just my suggestions. do what excites you the most. very very good rendering. need a good visual to work out exactly what your heart is looking for. trust your instincts. listen to what you say when you talk to yourself in your mind about this. jim
I. M. H. A., The Anglia is a strong body shape, with some nice lines. Although I am knocked out with your art rendering, I think it breaks the smaller car up to much. I vote basic black, with a choice of finishes from primer type to gloss black. Is this a street car, race car, combination? Blah Blah Blah, great car and how ever you go it will be way cool. Rock on! ~sololobo~
This to me looks a lot like your gasser paint job example which looks like it was designed for lettering. It will look a lot different in actual with all of the shadows and body lines. I like it but if you are on the fence why not do a model car mock up of it? If you letter it that changes everything, it will look great then for sure.
i love it !! the gold needs to be spun gold leaf and it needs gold leaf lettering. hell, i might do something similar on my stude.
Ever heard that old saw: "Less is more"? It's true...as an old graphic artist, I think your paint scheme is waaaa-aaaay too busy...it looks like you're trying to cover the black body but you really haven't made up your mind how to do it. A one dimensional drawing cannot show the curves of the fenders, the curve of the hood and top...and without any shadow anywhere, and light-play, it just isn't a good representation of the finished product. You need someone to lay out a good three-quarter view for you and then lay the color on that...you'll see that it'll change the whole body layout. IMHO, you've got too much color on it and not enuff paneling... However, it should go without saying: It's your car, do what you like. R-
after studying it a bit more, the gold stripes need to be thinner. but still need to be spun gold leaf. man, with some lettering, this thing would be bad ass !! but the bottom line is... its your car. what do YOU want ?
