Ok, so I'm new to this as in it's my first build. I'm looking forward from benefitting from all t he experience on this forum.

I'm mounting an original '29 Ford coupe body to a new farm. I was told I can buy a kit for the mounting tabs, but I can't seem to find one anywhere. The search I'm using is "frame mounting kit". Am I susing the wrong name? Anyone know where I can find these things? A little help is apreciated.

    thanks

To mount the body you first need frame webbing; comes in at least two widths and thicknesses. Then wooden body blocks. Then you'll need a handful of rubber body shim pads. These are available through any model A restoration supply as well as most rod shops. Might help getting a restoration book. Good luck!

  3. I think he's referring to the inverted U shape brackets to weld to his new frame. Dont buy 'em, make 'em, that's what hot-rodding is all about. Cut some 2" x 2" x 3/16" tubing into 2" lengths and cut diagonally through them.... voila! Instant body mounting brackets.

Most of the "A" mounting holes go thru the top of the frame, except for the very front and rear mounts.. If the frame is boxed, you'll need nutserts(?) installed in the top of the frame.. The front mounts can be purchased thru any "A" parts house and the rear can be made as stated above..........
