I forget what the Stooges motto was, as lawyers. I think the car was sponsored by a restaurant, Dewey, Cheatam, and Howe in Spokane that, as far as I know is still there. Don't know who the car owner was.
The yellow one is still around and runs in ss/am with a 403ci big block and a 5 speed 9500rpm and let the clutch go neet as hell. Ive been helping on that car for 20+ years and its still cool. Rocky
OK! This thread has awakened some formerly unknown memories. I grew up a stones throw from Mission B.C. I've only made it to page twenty so far but I just had to skip ahead before I lose what I want to say. I remember driving within the vicinity of the track and dad would slow the car down or we'd stop to watch the jumpers at the skydiving school, and we'd hear the cars racing. The videos back on page 18 or so reminded me of the sounds we heard from the back seat of the family car. That is a sound that has to be experienced to be understood. Sooo...Cool. Thanks for awakening those sleeping memories. I was only five or six at the time. It's amazing what a little sound surround can do. Carry on.

What do you say we open this open a little to include the cars and classes from the old Modified Eliminator class. this would include Modified Production, Gas (non supercharged), Altered (non supercharged), Sport Production (non supercharged) and Street Rod. It's up to you guys, what do you think? Maybe it complicates things a little too far? As for the HAMB rules, try to keep pre 66 or what ever their cut off rule is.

I've been sorta breaking the rules by posting "eliminator" cars so you know I'm all for it. It was always my favorite and even when I worked at the track I'd stop to watch Modified. A great variety of cars.
OK. I'll take a shot and hope this beauty fits here. I saw it in the background of one of the early shots (post # 14), weather or not it is the same car I don't know. I just know the one in the pictures is authentic and in good hands. Pictures are from a show, and the night before, back in 2009.
Anyone with more video coverage of the old small cube lower class MP cars, I just get goose bumps hearing those small blocks scream up to 9000. Man, no other sound like it. Mark L
