I cleaned mine up and painted them while they were apart. I taped off what i didn't want to affect negatively with the paint. I used Duplicolor engine enamel on the main bodies. I then used VHT high temp Header paint on the bowls, cause I liked the color I chose, it was a flat alluminum. When everything dried I used Duplicolor Engine enamel Clear Coat. It has held up great for me.

Medium grit baking soda works good and no grit in everything, blasting supply stores have it.

Yellow chromate on linkage pieces and throttle shafts, original 1969 hardware.

I soda blasted this before lightly polishing it. I did not want to remove any casting numbers.

I've done a couple carbs with Eastwoods Carb Re-New and thought it just looked like gold spray paint, not very happy with it at all. Finally got tired of looking at one and gl*** beaded it and powdercoated it ultra-high gloss black with a bare finished base plate. Looks nice and holds up to fuel spillage nice too.
