Ford 226 Aluminum timing gear

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by Donald N Wemple Jr., Jan 11, 2011.

  1. Called C&G today to order a new Aluminum Camshaft timing gear for a 1950 H engine with press on gear. They sent me back an E-mail out of stock and do not know if they are going to be getting anymore and cancelled my order. Anyone know where else I can purchase one? Thanks Don.

  4. No good on finding a gear from Job lot. They only have two for bolt on style and one of them is oversized. They ran out of press on style and have no idea where I can find one. Anyone know other places I might find one? Thanks Don.

  6. O.K. I finally found an aluminum timing gear and had it put on the Delta reground cam I have. I just picked up the cam and gear from the shop and the retaining collar that holds the cam in the block is loose and not like the factory fiber gear clearance which is about 10 mills. The front of the cam snout is flush with the top of the cam gear and the shop is confused. Do I need to have the gear pressed down to the same clearance as the factory one and have the snout stick out? HELP!!!
