I got ripped off by a guy named Tony Capcino.
Bought a pair of 49 Plymouth bumpers from him, sent him $500 bucks and never got them, and now he won't return my calls.
I'm in Los Angeles, so it's a little far to drive over there, but I have his address.
Let me know if anyone lives close by.

I've dealt with Tony on multiple occassions with great success. I bought a 1967 Cougar GT from him a year or two ago and traded him the 36 Ford coupe for the Orange Crate gasser and some parts and everything went just as planned. I dropped him an e-mail asking him to get back with you and get this taken care of. He's had some serious family issues and has been hard to get a hold of sometimes for a couple of days but has always done things right when I've dealt with him.

 

Bensalem is 10 miles north of me.

I'm not going to go threaten anyone, but if I can help, I will.

I can pick them up and ship them if you need.

 

Tony, just wrote me back and said this is mostly his fault and he has lost your address. If you send it to me or him, he'll get them right out to you.

Great post, I got pissed off reading it at first then things started to look better and finally everything looks like it will turn out well. You have to keep on top of internet deals both buyer and seller, great to have the HAMB police out there too.

 

I was ready to jump in, then when reading the name I knew something wasn't right. I've also dealt with Tony with no problems.

Im glad this worked out for you,its sucks gettin beat! I was beat on ebay by a guy who is a Hamber. I was not happy with what I bought,terrible construction. When I told him I was upset and had been ripped off,he said he would send me money after the holidays. I never heard from him again,he will not return my phone calls. It was also too late to leave him negative feedback,so I think he strung me along. I purposely did not post it here,for I did not want to upset any of my Hamber friends,much respect! This guy is a cheat, and totaly took me for a ride. My plan was to seek him out this year when I get to Paso, I go every year. I also have not involved my chapter on the West coast,dont need my battles fought. I would love some help,so if any one could help,I would appreciate it! Don't want to disrupt Paso either. If you have a problem with a HAMB'er take it to Rocky or Rashy and they will get involved. A lot of times stuff is miscommunications but if there is an outright fuckin, they need to know about it and will work to get it resolved.

Whether it was Ebay or a swap meet or whatever, you oughta mention it. It's still a HAMB deal if it involves two HAMB people. If there is a character deficiency or somebody rippin off, we all need to know about it. If it's something easy to resolve like miscommunication, everyone will be happier to get it over with. If it's a bad deal, it's likely not the only one and others need to know. Good luck.

I'll explain the story a little better so there is no confusion! I bought a 29 p/u for a friend on ebay! I bought it,cause I have a cable modem and it was much faster to bid. This dude said the truck was 90% complete,had all the right stuff,40 brakes,4 inch dropped beam,late 40's rear,gas welded chopped p/u cab, crappy stake bed that we did'nt care about. You guys are hip so you may remember this. The cab was sweet,the guy explained himself well like a builder. There were a lot of desirables next to it.So it sounded and looked like the real deal. All it needed he said was plumbing for the brakes,wireing, and it was all ready for a V8 swap.Had a four banger in it,we figured we would sell it,and use a flattie we had at our shop.It also was a stock Model A frame kicked in the back. All the stuff someone wanting a traditional style rod! Wrong, the frame was put together from parts of other frames,stick welded like a first timer,horns were bent and sticked on,frame was not square, and the back half was rediculious. The brakes were missing parts,and no good. The spindles were shit,the steering parts were all wrong,the coloum was shit. Nothing was what he described. It was a bad mock job,not 90% complete or ready. The cab was the only thing that was good! This dude str8 up lyed. We told him that it was a piece of shit,and even noticed that he had screwed someone else on this truck on Ebay once before.Our fault for not looking. We even got in a fight and I disolved the situation. I told the dude that we payed too much for what we got(4500.00) and then payed 1000.00 bucks to ship it(our loss) not his fault. But what he sold us was not worth 2500.00 bucks. I asked for a thousand back,and we would forget about it,he agreed to pay me something after the holidays(Christmas). We never heard back from him. I emailed him many times(nicely) and I have since recieved his address and phone number( lots of friends on W.C.). I called him and left a decent message asking to resolve this,for I dont want any trouble. He never called or emailed back! This guy is a young guy,but an old Hamber! The more I think about all this,I should have never mentioned it here. I dont want to upset my friends here,and I would rather not having to choke this guy,I am always struggling to be a better man! I have a good rep as a good man, but I have an old bad temper that likes to rear its ugly head when crossed! Thanks All!!

I think you owe it to the rest of the board to give out this guys handle. I certainly don't want to get burned by the dude. and if you have info that would help me make a better decision on who to do business with you MUST tell. If I get burned cause you had info that would help that makes you partially responsible. I know you don’t want to rattle any personalities or piss people off but come on…You have a responsibility to being a stand up guy.

if this is something this guy is known for doing quite often i think we would ALL like to know who it is. just to cover our own asses. if it was a one time "incident" or a possible miscomunication then i would say to AT LEAST let Rocky and Rashy know about it. but it sounds to me like this guy is tryin to make a buck by screwing the rest of us. thats not cool. i want to know who it is so i don't get screwed by him in the future.

Sorry to bring back this post, but I just wanted everybody to know that I never got my money back from this A-hole, and, since I made this post a year ago, I have gotten several other people contact me in the same situation with this guy.

So beware. His ebay name is Tonyhemi67 or 62 .... I can't remember the number. but that's the name..... don't deal with him.
