'60 Impala master cylinder swap

    '60 Impala with stock POWER brakes .... Want to change from a single chamber to a dual chamber master cylinder ...... What bolts in ?? Part # or what car would it come from ? Thanks in advance ...........

    i did this to my 59 last year....
    i used a 1968 impala master cylinder, make sure you specify a front drum car, cuz they also had an option for front discs.....

    i think it might be wagner p/n f64885

    the master bolted right up to the booster.......


    the brake line outlets are a little bigger, but thats what adapters are for.....

    the main differences between drum/drum and drum/disk master cylinders are the the disk brakes require a much larger reservior, most have one big and one small one. Also many drum only cylinders have residual pressure valves built in...most disk brake cars came with a combination valve instead.

    i used a 67ish catalina master on my 61 caddy with 4 wheel drum dual res. bolted right in.
