Is that you in that beautiful car? Geez, what a waste of machinery

Vintage Torque Fest has reserved the Route 61
Drive-In for our own personal After Party!

Not only do we get the pleasure of seeing a
movie at an historic drive-in, but we get to see
    2 cl***ic movies as well!

American Graffiti and Two Lane Blacktop are
the features this year and we hope everyone
will want to come on over and hang out - it will
be a cool way to end a great day.

And for those that don't want to see an
amazing hot rod show....but still wanna see the
movies - go check 'em out on Friday night.

APRIL 29-30 Entry starts at 6:30 PM
Movie will start around 8:30 PM

    Address:
    1228 Highway 61
    Delmar, IA 52037

    563 674-4367

The response to the after party has been really strong....in fact - some people in the area
have expressed interest in coming to see the movie and not attending Torque Fest.
    Here are the details:

THE DRIVE IN WILL BE OPEN BOTH NIGHTS!
Friday Night will be open to ALL cl***ic cars!
Saturday Night is the Official Torque Fest After Party - open to Torque Fest participants.

Please remember that there are only 300 spots at this drive in.

    Friday Night:

Friday night is open to all pre 1980 cl***ic cars and newer American sports cars (Camaros,
Mustangs, Challengers, etc.). Not just Torque Fest participants.

To get a guaranteed spot in the drive-in you will want to purchase advanced tickets.

The advanced tickets will be available through the website, or at one of the many events
that the Torque Fest crew will be attending throughout the Midwest (Kansas City, Chicago,
St Paul, Milwaukee, etc.) Email vintagetorque@gmail.com for details on locations and dates.

We will sell 200 advance tickets and leave the last 100 open spots for drive up patrons.
(Please do not think that if you show up at 8pm on Friday night there will be room for you.
Chances are high that the drive-in will be sold out by then.)

Torque Fest participants - note that these Friday night advance tickets are TOTALLY
SEPARATE from the cars that Pre Register and get to attend the after party on Saturday
    night.

    Saturday Night:

There are still only 300 spots at this drive in!

Saturday night is for Torque Fest participants only (no newer cars or spectator cars).

If you intend to go on both nights, the only guarantee to be sure to get in BOTH nights is to
purchase an advance Friday night ticket, and pre register your car for Saturday.

    MORE INFO:
Anyone with a wristband from Vintage Torque Fest gets into the Drive In for FREE.

Wristbands for those that did not attend Torque Fest or have lost their wristbands will
have to purchase at the entry gate for $5

Anyone wishing to attend the movie that do not have cars are welcome to do so - but you
will have to walk a bit to get there. Parking on the side of the road at your own risk.

Hot rods and customs and cl***ic cars get first chance at filling up the 300 car Drive-In.
If we have room AFTER these cars arrive we will open to the muscle cars/street rodders.
We will NOT let Camrys, Jeep Libertys, or Caravans into the drive in. They can come any
other weekend of the year. This weekend is reserved for Vintage Torque Fest attendees.

PRE REGISTERED cars get priority over EVERYONE (a good reason to Pre Reg)

We will have gate keepers at the entry of the dead end street to make sure no one sneaks
in early. If anyone power parks early - tow trucks will be called. Don't think I am serious?
We hauled a car out of the 2010 Torque Fest....we can do it again for 2011. Bottom line -
the drive-in is a part of the show and daily drivers are not a part of Torque Fest.

To get there from the Jackson County Fairgrounds:
Turn West on E Platt (Route 64)
Turn Left (South) on Main St (Old Route 61 aka 200th Ave)
Stay on this road approximately 4.5 miles.
When you come to the Junction of Route 136 - go straight across. You will see the Drive-In
    straight ahead.

ALL PROCEEDS from entry to TORQUE FEST and Route 61 Friday Night Screenings go to:

Maybe I should air up the tires on the Vespa and see if Candy Clark wants to go to the drive-in with me.

I have been getting stern warnings from people here on the board about not letting "billet" cars in to the drive in........

FRIDAY NIGHT IS OPEN TO ALL CL***IC CARS..........

Saturday night is open to Torque Fest participants.

So we will have SAT night for the people that have no billet - no digital etc

sorry if this is confusing to some of you......

There is a real demand for people to see this here locally by people that dont meet the entry criteria - guys that have cl***ic muscle or restored to perfection tri 5 chevys.....etc

so I hope you all understand what is up.

  11. As if "Torque Fest wasn't cool enough!!!

This year I get to go to the Drive-Inn to watch American Graffiti!!!!!!!!

We don't have any drive inn's worth a **** in "The great state of Chicago", let alone one full of cool cars watching American Graffiti and Two lane Blacktop!!!!

As long as I don't get "Stranded at the drive inn!!!" It'll be the event of the year!!!

we want this to be an unforgettable event.............
give people a lot for their money - and hopefully they will come back!

now if we can just round up some volunteers to make sure all these things run smoothly..........................

You can purchase the $5 entry tickets at the Rock Island Hot Rod show this coming weekend. This will guarantee you a spot at the drive in on Friday.

If you want to come Saturday - if you pre register your vehicle - then you are guaranteed to get a spot at the Drive In on sat night.

....just a note, there are no speakers for your car at the drive-in, you need to tune your radio to a certain station to hear the movie,..if enuf people turn theirs up you mite hear it anyway, don't know....maybe John knows more about this.
    ...just a heads-up.

    Thanks SAM!!!
I totally forgot to mention that....
I doubt the drive in will have enough radios to lend out.

You have to give them your drivers license and they will let you have a radio for the night.

So yes - it is best to come there with a working radio.

remember - only those that have pre registered are able to get a guaranteed spot at the drive in on Saturday.....if you wish to pre register - go to the site and click on After Party on the main page.
    www.torquefest.com

As of today we have 135 pre registered cars........
last year we had about 60 at this time.

It is quite possible we could get 200 pre registers - this would only leave 100 spots for the guys that drive over the day of the show.
