I have been doing searches for threads pertaining to Model A and Model T for that matter that are running full leather interiors. Getting my roadsters interior done in a vintage or distressed leather and looking for pics of similar rides for stiching ideas. Seen a few in some magazine spreads. Looking to see what HAMB roadsters are running leather interiors. I was looking at the Tardel coupe with the leather and houndstooth inserts and that got my blood flowing but probably not most suitable with a roadster that is exposed to the elements. Come on guys, show me what you got.

Just some shots of the interior of my roadster done in distressed leather just keeps it simple

Word of warning....I was looking for the bomber jacket look and had the interior done in some high bucks interior design leather. Looked great, felt great until the first time it sat out overnight in a rainstorm without a cover. Can't help but think that the leather used for furniture is not real good in open car. Any thoughts on this? BTW, I found some Naugahyde that looks better than the "distressed" stuff I used on the first go around.

Up to now no probs with the leather (Living in the NW of England it rains A LOT!!)probably not the best place to have a Roadster:rolleyes: and has been soaked through more than a few times.A good buddy who is a top cl*** auto trimmer does my cars for me and this stuff he used is great.

Joe, love your roadster, thats definitely going to look good with a Leather interior. I just saw my upholsterer this week about getting the leather interior. He has a company that sells a vintage leather. It looks like those old leather county club smoking chair with the br*** tacks. It cost about $10 a square foot. He says I need about 75 square feet for my seat so the material alone is going to cost $750! With all the s***ching involved he says he'll have about 20 hours into the seat at $50 an hour. Out the door my seat will cost $1750. Thats probably a litle more than I wanted to pay for a roadster seat. He does have the baseball glove type leather as well and that runs about $9.50 a square foot. I really like that as well.

Since I don't run a top on my roadster and It sees its fair share of rain( These cars are meant to be driven!) I am kinda wary about exposing it to that much rain especially for dumping that much cash on it. Maybe I'll see if theres a nice naugahyde that really looks like leather or a nice vinyl. I am still torn though, I think leather interiors in Model A's just looks the balls out.

This has got to be one of the sweetest most honest Model A's I've ever seen. Well, Well, Well done !

No to turn this into a bobbooth strokefest, but that car is fantastic.

I've got a whole hide of brown leather for my seat sitting here, gotta get crackin on it!

Leather was beyond my budget, but to answer your question, this stuff feels like leather (soft), looks like leather (distressed grain), waterproof (had three inches of rain in the floor after going through three thunderstorms in 200 miles with no top), seat wind dried in 15 minutes. Smells like leather if you clean it with Cougar Chemical leather and vinyl cleaner:D Made by Naughahyde, think it was called "near leather" or some such.
Comes in about 20-30 colors, including some browns/tans.

Here's a couple of roadsters I took pictures of at last summer's Jalopy Showdown. The cost of leather stinks but you can't beat the look.

    Nice and simple-

    Thanks HotrodA,
I am going to check out the Naugahyde and like leathers at my upholsterer. I really like the look of the leather but I'd hate to get it trashed the first rainstorm its in. I am going to have to find a happy.

Mine looks very sad now, but is more than 20 years old, and I didn't baby it a bit. Looked great to at least pretty good for about fifteen of those years. Don't feel like this job owes me anything; hope to save up enough to get it redone someday soon.

  26. My old leather office chairs held up great for a few years and m***ive storms where I forded rivers up to my axle hubs!

The damn things were comfortable and designed to be sat in for 8 hours a day. I got a pair of them for $30 and $18 shipping... can't beat it with a stick.

They weren't distressed then but started showing some signs when I sold the car to BCR.

ahahahaha, thats awesome. thats true hot rod sh*t right there!

here's the leather I bought. I found it at the thrift store. I bought 2 hides, and I think they were $100. Couldnt p*** it up! I think Im gonna try and dye it a little darker red, and im sure It will look distressed in no time at all. haha
