These don't look to need a deep dish. They don't have the weird center style mounting like the sombreros I've seen
BMW cars use a 5x4.75 bolt pattern, and you can find different offsets depending on if they came from a 3, 5, or 7 series. Most guys are above steelies so you can usually find really cheap sets on CL. I used to have hubcaps on my set of winter steelies on my 3 series. Also, S10's have the same bolt pattern, and 2wd and 4wd have different offsets, but Im not sure if they will accept hubcaps or not.
I'm thinking some of those 80's steel 5 spoke s10 wheels might work. I think they came with trim rings...
I can't find any motivation whatsoever. I don't know what's wrong with me... I seriously doubt this truck will make it to the round up. I mounted the front end of the body up and couldn't make myself do anything else so I just grabbed some black spray paint I had laying around and sprayed the whole body. I thought maybe seeing it all in one color would somehow help me become excited about the truck again. Oh well here's a picture
Don't give up man. Just take a break from it. Collect some parts you need or do something else. The desire will come back. It is hard to want to work on anything when the weather is cold and unpleasant.
That's pretty much the point I was going to make, just take a break. My project is sitting idle this weekend, felt myself getting burn out. Spent most of the day cleaning up the garage, putting a million tools away, wiped and rolled up cords/hoses etc. I'll be eager to go next weekend! Hang in there!
If you really want it bad enough then keep pushing. You may not have the desire, but like the old saying goes, " Fake it till you make it! "
One thing that helped me was to make lists of what needed to be done, then you can check things off the list as you go. You can also prioritize your time better. Sometimes it helps to look back and see what you have accomplished so far, makes what is left to be done not seem quite so bad.
I just need to **** it up and get it on the road. It looks pretty cool now all black with the grill shiny. That helps for sure.
Look at that pile! It'll never amount to anything no matter how hard you try. Naw, I'm kidding it'll rock.
Well it is the most horrible paintjob ive ever done. But it made the truck all one color which really helps me stop worrying about how ****py it looked before and focus on getting it on the road.
I know how you feel! ive had my project truck for a year now and it hasn't even made it into the shop yet LMAO! been real busy working on customers rides and dont have the extra room. be patient it will work out have faith my man!!!
I'm gonna go do some work this afternoon. Haven't figured out what I'm going to do yet, but I'll do something.
Didn't really do much today... I made a decision today. I'm not going to cut corners just to get the truck on the road just to tear it apart and redo everything. I keep looking at things I've already done and wanting to fix them or redo them and I can't deal with that anymore. I've never built anything this in depth before and I want to do it right.
I've always kind of rushed through things and I'm tired of builds not being perfect. I think that's why I always end up getting rid of the projects before they're done. I end up being dissatisfied with the short cuts I've made and just move on to something else. So I'm done with that. I'm building my perfect truck so it's gonna take a while haha
This build is fixing to take what some might think is a few steps backwards. But I think you'll see the level of quality increase significantly. I've already got a lot of ideas and I'm pretty excited about slowing things down and stepping things up at the same time. Stay tuned.
Yeah I was looking forward to strapping your bike in the back and rolling over there this year though...
I think part of my problem is I sold my chopper to help fund this project, and now I don't have anything cool to go cruisin/ridin around in or on... so it's really getting to me that I've put so much time into this truck already and I still can't even crank it up and listen to it run... I'm getting tired of sitting in it and making my own car noises haha. Before I start taking everything apart, I think I'm going to go pick up a radiator and build mounts for that... Once that is out of the way, it will pretty much just be about when I have the funds to bolt things on to make it run. Maybe once I hear it run and see if the motor is actually a good motor, then it will light a fire for me to have the truck on the road for LSR and tear it down for rust repair one panel at a time next winter...
