Tired of watching Barrett Jackson reruns on Speed? Looking for something car related to do this weekend? Allentown PA Jan 14th-16th Automania Indoor swap meet. Certainly not a "Mid Winter Carlisle" by any stretch, but what else is there to do? I'll be vending....Big Bob @ Moonlight Movies, any HAMB member who stops by and introduces themselves gets a free G***er Poster !!!!
I try to get there every year. Don't ever remember buying any parts for my projects but hey its something to do and I usually run into someone to catch up with... I also head across the street to the farmer market for dinner. Big Bob are you the one with all the movies that is usually near the doorway that connects both sections? I may have to stop by and take you up on your offer
For all of you HAMBers who don't know Bob,he's the best source of hot rod, racing and automotive-specialty dvds there is! A cool guy and great to deal with!
Ya I am that pudgy guy with the videos between the 2 sections, and HAMB guys don't pay full price, just let me know you are a HAMB member and I will work you a good deal. Remind me about that poster too...it's pretty neat, and have made the money back I paid for them on the ones I sold last year....so free to HAMB members. For those who dod not know where the event is it is at Agri-plex building at Allentown PA fairgrounds Fri noon till 9:00 Sat 9:00 till 6:00 Sunday 9:00 till 3:00
1957 Robert Mitchum....good flick, "Haulin shine" must have been a hoot back in the day...I will set one aside for you
BigBob55 I have volume one of a set of VHS tapes by Jim Simmons. It's just called Drag Racing Volume 1 1967-1969. It lists volume 2 as being '70,71,and 73. and volume 3 as the 50's and early 60's. According to the label Jim was from Wyomissing, Pa. I have had no luck contacting him for volumes 2 and 3. Any chance you have them? I've been hunting for a long time. Thanks
I'll be there Saturday morning. Don't forget the great food and stuff at the farmer's market across the road!
Saw some nice stuff there today....it was cold outside but I had the heat on in the camper and it wasn't too bad....saw a bunch of hamber's today...if you are comeing tomorrow be sure to say Hi!!!!.....stan....aka stans-stainless
Stan, I hope you survived the cold today, tho it was toasty warm in the trailer. I was dissapointed, no HAMB brownies, 'can't be a real swapmeet without the brownies (hint, hint). I walked around for a while, hung out with a few friends and enjoyed the cabin fever break and managed to spend $7 on some junk I didn't need. Next swap meet for me will be Leesport in Feb. Dave
I got my copy of On any Sunday from BigBob a few years ago, he always has an interesting display. I've also got some good deals at that event, look forward to it every year, will be there tomorrow, regards, Tom.
Dave, how quickly you forget. Stan doesn't bake. You guys get your sugar rushes courtesy of the Vice President in charge of sales, the ex brother in law. By the way, glad to meet you finally. And truthfully, after two days in the deep freeze, I regretted not making them. And if Leesport is just as cold I'll have something to help wash down the lousy but hot coffee!!!!! Jeff
It was great wandering around the joint on saturday & seeing some cool stuff & meeting more cool people . I picked up some things for my shoebox & got a couple more movies from Big Bob (gotta buy a couple each time I see him , lol) - thanks for the poster , BTW . Funny that the brownies & stuff were mentioned - we were talking about that saturday morning - no baked goods . Good folks ...
The show was good! I met Big Bob and got some deals on DVDs and posters....Thanks Bob. I picked up a Tonka 1956 Ford Pumper Fire Engine...in it's original box!! Can't beat that with a stick. Got some miscellaneous parts as well...good time. Murph
