I don't see many of these, nice car. All of a sudden I'm getting an inspiration from your car - a drawing of a custom Ranchero.
welcome to the hamb allways good to see more squares ive seen your bird over on squarebirds.org i believe
Thanks for the comments. I can't take much credit for the basic car as it looks pretty much the way I bought it. I did totally redo the interior, several layers of sound deadener. When I first drove it back to CO from CA it was like riding in a portable sauna and your right foot felt like it was in an oven. When i got it back home the first thing I did was wrap the down pipes from the shortie headers and build aluminum heat shields for the trans tunnel, made a huge difference. Also added new stereo, speakers and amp, Pro-Car buckets up front with modified 66' power bases. Under hood I added A/C, 130amp alt, an over sized alum rad and a shroud and clutched fan from an LTD and did away with the puke tank. When I get back home this spring the 390/COM is being replaced with a 433 FE stroker (estimated 500hp/500ftlb) and a built AODE trans with a stand alone computer. Planing on a home built 4 link coil over set up for the rear. Sorry for the ramble, but it helps keep me motivated. Mike
Nice looking T-Bird. I see that you said it has shorty Headers. Any idea which Brand & model they were for? I built a set for one (long tube) & they took forever to miss everything. I'd like to have a backup set. Thanks Movin/on
these are made by FPA http://www.fordpowertrain.com/FPAindex/headers1.htm . I plan on building a set of long tubes for the new engine. Mike
I used Ford Powertrain headers on a couple of cars - FE's. They are by far the best made headers I have ever used. They are not cheap, but cheap headers are curse forever. Hay, let's se some interior shots - you photo link doesn't seem to be active.
A lot of people don't like this model of T-Bird.....when you really look at them, there is so much style.....look at all the other cars in 1960 and you will see whay I mean....other than the vette, there is nothing of interest. I like it a lot....demands respect on the road. Thanks for sharing!
Sorry no pics of the interior yet. Out of town until mid April so will have to wait till the then. Mike
