I have been saying I am going to take pictures of this small towns hot spots lol. In a town of 3000 if your not a gear head then.. well there's no hot spots.. here's my latest pictorial.. Ferris Automotive. and Nope! its not his personal collection of "im gonna fix it some day" and yup there all for sale.. Prices on parts is reasonable, whole cars.. well hope your good at bargaining. So with out further ado... a gold mine right here in my back yard.. The front of his shop. Could this be a good place for gear heads? As you walk through the gate this is what you see.. yup I think its a good place for gear heads. Another angle of in front of his shop. Now let the tour of the yard begin Hmm what could we do with this? we might need these.... put it on this frame.... find a motor and race it here.. yes he has his own personal race track. another angle of the track. but maybe thats not your flair.. what about this? Hmm the possibility... fix it up and race it.. but don't end up like this.. ok so say that's not your flair either.. maybe you need a parts runner? don't like yellow? how bout this one? maybe there shiny and new.. you want some covered transport? or... Maybe you have a busload of stuff So got ya covered on parts.. lets build a hot rod! looks ripe for the picking.. lets pick it with this... and we will take it home with this More to come.. stay tuned
idunno... ask him.. and I wont post his number here.. cause this isn't a classified ad... soo hey why not some more pictures... more cars.. I don't have any more fun stories to go with em though.. and his "secret stash" where trucks go to die!
there that's it.. my next installment.. the "abandoned" yard Ferris bought the salvage rights for it.. hauled away all the scrap, and there still is a few cars sitting there. Stay tuned!
I'll go with somewhere around St. John, AZ. Judging by the buses, they all have St. John on it. And its name is Ferris Automotive. Google it. I did and found it.
Sign me up for the old short bus and that wrecker in the weeds! Northeast Arizona, eh? Maybe I need to make a trip and go visit some of my family over in Gallup... then sneak your way! This is in St. Johns? Wow, that's cool! My grandfather and his brothers owned the majority of the valley there when they were young, I was told it was lost in a card game! It's been years since I've been there, but as you head south through town you go up a hill and there's a golf course at the top (as I remember it), that was all theirs too. There used to be a big adobe house at the bottom of the hill, a distant relative lived there when we went... shoot, I'm hijacking your thread, sorry!
heh its all good.. lost to a card game? this town was supposed to be Mormon from the get go.. gambling is a no-no with them isn't it?
oh yeah and like with most yards.. the busses aren't for sale.. "they make too good parts storage" hes told me that all the buses aren't for sale.. none of em..
thats just too damn cool, what i would'nt do to be the junkyard dog at that place ,dirt track ,junkyard combo !!! what more could you ask for ? yea i know a bar @ the corner !!!
soon as someone says everythings been seen some where....here goes another pile. Great thanks. Michigan Rick
Wow! You sure don´t see ´63 Chevy Station Wagons so much anymore, and he´s got two beautiful-looking ones just sitting, roof racks still there and all! Sure would make for some pretty unique parts chasers/tow rigs! Thanks for posting.
