Do not use the oven cleaner on your paint. It will eat right thru to the metal.

Nice, Nice '40. Keep the flathead.

WD does nothing, I will most likely start wet sanding.

I am going to drop in a battery, a new condensor and see if I can get it to pop. If it starts (or seems like it will start) and I can get it to run decent then I will rebuild the brake and fuel systems, exhaust, posies springs and a dropped axle and big and littles and get it running and driving as is.

Congrats of finding such a nice 40. The writing on the steering wheel horn ****on looks different than the DeLuxe models I have seen. Any idea why?

Mandarin Maroon was an option for wheel color on the 1940 p***enger cars.
The color on the dash (Monaida Maroon) was not. But it would look good on the wheels.

Wonder how it would look painted mandarin maroon with rose beige metallic wheels?

Mine has the Ford Script. Tell me more???

Learned something. I think there is a 39 Deluxe coupe posted on the HAMB from Texas that is cloud mist gray with maroon wheels, and it looks great.
