Morning from Plano, TEXAS. I came from Georgia with hands-on metal work in several styles of vehicles. But have made my living designing various products from Telephones to NightVision gun sights, and a lot of points in between. I did 10 years with a medical IV pump manufacturer. I currently work for an Industrial Design firm designing all kinds of products (something different all the time). I was a Navy Officer for 6 years active on USS Saratoga CV60 (end of Nam, and into the Mediterranean tours of duty). I had a 73 240Z for 10 years and tricked it out and had fun leaving people in my dust. I restored 2 BMWs in the 80s and then had to work for a living, and raise a family. My son (16 yrs old) has taken my love of cars into the desire to restore an old truck, to heart. We purchased a 58 Chevy 3600 truck about a month ago, and are working thru the direction of the restoration. He wants to lower it, add new suspension, a 350 motor, and replace the rust with a very good paint job. He wanted to rat it out originally, but we decided to do lot more and make it a very stable vehicle, that is safe in todays crazy driving environment. Glad to find an interesting forum to learn from. I hope I can contribute to it, as well in the future.
