Hello all. I took a bunch of photos of a really neat custom at a car show in about 2002. I thought I lost the photos on a hard drive crash, but I just discovered another set. One regret is that I didn't have a better camera. I don't know much about the car other than whats on the info sheet in one of the photos. Apparently it's been in Las Vegas since at least the 1940's, and the original owner was the one displaying it. I would really like to see it again, but it only showed up at this one show and I haven't seen it since. It was in an early 50's issue of Hot Rod. Anybody have a copy? I forget the original builders name but there has been quite a bit on here about it...Ryan did a blog post about a while back, if you look through his blogs history you should be able to find it , or someone with a better memory than me will mention the builders name so you can search it easily , either way its a cool car with a cool history!
Found it http://www.jalopyjournal.com/?p=1962 It looks like the car will be displayed at the Detroit Autorama next month. http://bortzcars.wordpress.com/2011/01/02/1937-glenn-johnson-ford-custom/1937glennjohnsonford/
Killer, can't wait to see it in person! I think i have that issue of Hot Rod... hold on... Edit: digital pics will have to do, my scanner is on the fritz...
Thanks for the pics of the article. Amazing what the owner accomplished, all the while still driving the car back and forth to work. Knowing more about the car, I'd like to talk to him again.
