54 Chevy steering wheel spline.

Anyone know the diameter and spline size for a 54 Chevy steering shaft?

 

No, But I know that a 61 Impala wheel will work. After 61 who cares !!!! LOL Tom (Tired Old Man)

 

I think it is 5/8ths but have no idea on the spline count. I do know the GM steering wheels up to mid-80's are the same spline.

 

I had a 50 Pontiac wheel on my stock 54 column.

i am interested in this to, will a mid-late 50s merc wheel fit to the splines of a 53 chevy?
