I have an issue with my temporary set up. For right now I'm installing my Fenton exhaust mans. for my lake pipes. I'm leaving on the original single intake. I can not figure out how to get the gas pedal throttle rod thingamajig in place so that I can connect it back to the carburetor. Is there a secret squirrel way of getting around the new installment or what. Here are some pics of the puzzle.

Hey J, you might wanna go ahead and put the new intake on..I had lots of problems with mine until I called Patrick's and got the new linkage and pivot for the shaft. But if you are planning on running duals, i wouldn't spend a bunch of time bending and welding. Sorry probably not what you wanted to hear, but you are gonna need to bend around the headers to get everything to fit, and it might not work worth a ****...

Thanx man. I am thinking the same thing but have one more idea in mind. I'm thinking about taking rod off the linkage and using throttle cable instead and see how that works. I think it will pull at a small angle but with a little innovation I believe I can get it to work until I get everything for the new intake. We'll see! LOL!

  8. On several early 50's chevys I used the gas pedal / cable from a mid 70's chevy pick-up. A couple of bends on the pedal rod and mount it up. Hold the unit to your floorboard and it will be clear what you need to do. It works well and you can get 'er done for around 15 bucks.

Lots of GM and Ford cables at the wrecking yard. Pinto cable and pedal always worked good. Sorta hard to find these days.

    X2--should work

  11. the throttle rods rubed in the 60's too on the split manifolds even the home made specials, problems never change but then you had to make it work no cable throttles available, see we got progress now:D

When I installed the fentons on my 37 p/u I had to make a new rod going from the bellcrank to the carb,I am just running one carb right now.

Sooo! Right as I make some progress, I run back into the linkage deal again. Going to lowes and some other places to see if I can find something to make the linkage work. Dang fentons are in the way.

Yep! did take me a couple of hours bending and sanding but got it done.
The finished product looks like **** but you can't see it behind the fentons.[IMG]
