I responded to a cl***ified add today about a gas fireplace , struck a deal and went to look at it on a farm , when I got there he was coming out of a garage and told my father and I to come on down to the garage cause it was in there , when we walked in I found this old car , this guy was born in Monroe county , WV , then moved to Reno Nevada to live his life , became a preacher after retirement , met his wife and so on in Reno , when it was time to settle down , he moved back to good ol' WV , but not after collecting 8 trailer loades of stuff to go back and forth and get , before he moved back , his father -in-law gave him this old car , he said he was gonna sell it , he's 73 and he said he'll never get around to fixing it , the only thing that's missing is the radiator. I thought it was an "A" model ford , but , he told me it was a '32 Auburn , rust free Reno car , he's supposed to tell me what he wants for it after he talks with his wife , anyone have any idea what one of these are worth? , here's a pic , sorry it's a cell pic , it's the only thing I had on me at the time.
Just looking at the one ****py little picture (my eyes need big pics) I'd say it t'aint a Ford and maybe the ol' guy is right.
WORTH LOTS OF $$$$$$$!!!!!!!!!!!!! Get it if you can, if not drop me a line, I have a buddy that collects cords/auburns. Jim
It's complete , just dis-***embled , he showed all the parts , the motor , fenders , hood , all of it , ****tered around in the garage , kinda wondering what one of these things are worth .
No , just setting behind it . the car has no rust in it , I have never seen a car this old this solid , of course it came from Reno , Nevada ., but , I guess I'm used to the rusted out hulks we have here in the north east.
Sure looks just like the 32 auburn i worked on at my old job about 15 years ago at a restoration shop in arnold ca, called rene faught restorations did some metal work and wood work on it dont think its the same car but one just like it, im pretty sure its worth a chunk of change, at least they were 15 years ago, about 15 grand the way it sits, that one is in better shape than the one i was workin on, and the guy paid 15 grand back then, so its worth getting if the price is right!
According to the Old Cars Price Guide, a '32 Auburn 4 dr sedan is worth around $40,000 in #1 condition. Speedsters, on the other hand, are north of $200,000
