Just bought a new set of recap puy cut cheater slicks, mostly for looks / street use.

    Question's are:

    Mount tubeless or with tube.

Do they loose a lot of air when sitting for long periods?

When car is parked in garage, do I need to jack it up to keep slicks from flat spotting?

They're capped on regular radial tires, so shouldn't be any different than your daily. But you don't want to ever run them low, the cap could separate with the excessive flex from that.

I have heard the name Towel City before. When you hear it you certainly do not think of tires. I can hear the ad now " Bath Towels, Hand Towels, Wash towels all on sale now and 10% all Cheater Slicks...LOL

got them on my 57 f-100 lost a little air at first but they quit leaking, good to go...

  8. Do your wheels leak and what does the manufacturer recommend as far as tubes are concerned.

Old world nylon bias ply tires would flat spot when parked the flat spots went away as soon as you got the tires warmed up. Newer radials will also flat spot to a certain extent. Try driving it more than once a year and you won't have to worry about it.

I just bought a pair from Hurst last week, Cody told me a MINIMUM of 28 lbs, and a max of 32.

He said because they are radials you usually want to adjust air pressure up if any at all, versus a modern slick you lower for traction. He also pointed out typically you don't adjust the pressure at all.

    Hope that helps,

    Scot

Well, the goat was a true barn find and my first frame off restore. He came complete with fist size hole in the floor pan under throttle pedal.

Cranked run and (barely) drove, came to the house with the help of sanders here on the hamb.

Did I say it had a hole in the floor, well that let the squirrels in and to start the restore on this PHS doc, 389, 4 speed muncie, no A/C, PB or PS. This baby came straight from the factory to go from red light to red light for the old man and still pick up the groceries with mom once a week back in the day.

Back to that hole and those squirrels!! 1st thing I did was remove the interior and va***m 3- full 7 gal shop vacs of squirrel **** from insde this hot rod. Well neadless to say the wife was ready to kill me back then (3 years ago) cause every time it rained that smell would migrate inside the house! The trunk floor, metal between the trunk lid and rear window and the tail panel were rusted out due to a battery in the trunk for its racing days at Kennedale and Yellow Belly by two of its previous owners back in the 70's and 80's.

He's finally came to life a couple of summers ago! The ironic thing is the wife has several choices for cruise to Kellers on Saturday nights and always piles into the goat as 1st choice. She just love that bad boy now and can't get enough of some of the upgardes with a 12 bolt possie and a 4 speed rock crusher!! I kinda like him to!

Thanks for asking about him and please enjoy some pics of before and after! The 3rd pick is who I purchased it from, Carl Sandberg! That guy in the back ground is sanders of same pick is sanders that some of you probably know on here!
