  1. Were having the Antique Aircraft ***ociation at Propwash (16XS) on the 19th.
Should be 50-75 Vintage aircraft, weather permitting of course.

Too bad it so far to Hotlanta! :|

Vintage Hot Rods that fly are cool too. :)

That is cool. I used to detail Embraer ERJ-145's (American Eagles). Was seriously thinking about going to school for aviation mechanics, but was talked out of it. Being a pilot would be way cool!

Only if you don't use 'em effectively! :D

The four fans of freedom haul the mighty C-130 whisper pig effortlessly through the sky!

    LOW FLIGHT

Oh, I have slipped through swirling clouds of dust,
A few feet from the dirt,
I've flown the C-130 low enough,
    To make my bottom hurt,
I've flown in the desert, hills and valleys,
    Mountains too,
    Frolicked in the trees,
    Where only flying squirrels flew.
    Chased the frightened cows along,
    Disturbed the ram and ewe,
And done a hundred other things,
That you'd not care to do.
    I've smacked the tiny sparrow,
    Bluebird, robin, all the rest,
    I've ingested baby eagles,
Simply ****ed them from their nest.
    I've streaked through total darkness,
Just the other guys and me,
And spent the night in terror of,
    Things I could not see.
I turned my eyes to heaven,
As I sweated through the flight,
Put out my hand and touched,
    The Fire Warning Light.

I think there are a bunch here. I'd like to know too who is flying on the HAMB.
Like I've said... Flying for fun is great! Making a living out of it is another thing. I would LOVE to take a small airplane out for a day and just get back to "seat of the pants" flying.

    There's no level like low-level, baby! :D

Besides, the four fans of freedom won't climb very high anyway...just high enough to be a nuisance!

This year marks 40 years of Talons (MC-130E/H) - The Chariot of Armageddon ;)

    I am a mechanic on a L-382 (civilian version of the C-130)
someday when I get my **** together and figure out how to post pictures I will post a picture of my 65 he**** parked next one of our Hercs.
The Bush Co is a Great place but I prefer PJs, more down to my level and they have beer in pitchers.

  11. Very COOL post! Thanks for the movies. My dad flew Lancaster bombers in WWII and instilled a love of all things mechanical in me. I would actually trade all my car stuff & cars to be able to afford a Stearman or Waco and to fly. Was lucky enough as a kid to get to fly in some pretty cool vintage stuff (B-25, P-51 etc) and to ge tto take the controls of an old Beechcraft twin 18-D, what a rush!!!!

  12. I don't do this for a living..., but I have friends in "HIGH" places..., Go for rides..., and see the races...!!!!!!

Here we're practicing for the air show fly overs...!

Are those Ospry (sp) flight simulators? If so, they need help w/ thost planes. I was doing a job at Edwards AFB and they said the marines couldnt keep them from flopping off the ground....maybe its the groundpounding mentality. :p

Rashy can tell you for sure, but those sims can be pretty much any airplane you want them to be. That one does look to be the... However you spell it. :)

Wow, just to fly next to a B-17 has got to be an honor. Especially those who fly in the vintange WW2 planes. I couldnt imagine how I would feel, espcially to even fly in one (as a p***enger) I would love to get a chance to go up in a B-17, Dauntless Divebomber..etc. Great pictures, thanks for sharing.

Those are indeed Osprey simulators, V-22.

And they could use a little help, thus the simulators.

We have yet to kill anyone in one of those things!

People are generally surprised to find that I know precious little about flying. I've had to learn alot for my job and there seems to be limited storage in this head of mine. Biggest problem appears to be that my brain is mostly full of the gay hits of the 80's. Wish I knew why.

    Check these out...

My Father-in-law and I are co-workers and we got involved with upgrading some 20 year old KC-135 simulators.

We were working on one in Milwaukee for the Wisconsin Air Guard (our first line of defense against the Canadians;)) and asked if we could get a tour of one. What we wound up getting was a 5.5 hour trip doing some concurrent training at 30,000 feet over the midwest.

Very odd looking straight down 30,000 feet from the tail of a plane, at your home town.

Weird as that was, it didn't compare to the feeling you get when you see an airplane the size of that 747 getting that close to you!

  18. Hey Rashy..., are they still flying Ospreys...????

Plus I was based across the field from the 88th Air Refuelers..., riding around in the 440th's C-130's...!

I've space A'd in the KC-135's and have great shots of refueling the last of the F4 Phantoms over Lake Tahoe, some F-15's, and even experienced how a KC-135 Drag's an anchor to refuel A-10 Warthawgs...! :D

Can't imagine a building sized airplane sneaking up on my *** end for some fuel ***********....!!!

Let me know when you guys make it to Milwaukee and I'll take you on a Hanger crawl...!!!

Yeah, the Osprey is still flying - it's actually doing fairly well.

You think dragging a 'Hog around is an anchor, what about a Herk?!

Being on the Receiving end of the fuel *********** is much more exciting than on the front end! :D
