i'd leave the fins. removing them creates long, flat body lines-- makes it look too much like early 60's land yacht. i like the cut down taillights closer to the bumper, but not the swoop down. it would look better if you were sectioning, not sloping the rear line downward. -scott noteboom
The original tail lights are what makes a Cadillac and Cadillac. Why mess with it? Just trade it for a later model that doesn't have them.
I like it straight, if only because it's different and goes against the grain. Maybe straight with the pointed Packard lenses. Here's my favorite Cad, the coachbuilt Brougham, with the fins whacked.
Blasphamey I tell ya!! I've never understood why someone wants to take off the MOST iconic design to one of the MOST iconic automobiles. Caddys RULE!! Too each his own I geuss. BTW, the pic with the swoop down and lights right above the bumper does look good though.
No..no..noo... they look like whoever designed them, made no effort, was late for lunch, and just decided ahh f*ck it, and stuck them on the top... Do not like! edit 2011 couple more added from another thread
I never liked those fins, I thought they looked like a weird hickup... But none of these modifications make it any better. I guess Harley Earl knew what he was doing afterall...
I like the idea of trying something different. If it was mine I would cut the fins off and run '54 Packard tail lights. Caddy is looking real kool. Happy Trails, Mick
