just screwing arround on ebay looking for different engines.. and I stumbled accross this. a BPM 730ci hemi v12 making 720hp and 830hp STOCK!!! all aluminum and it comes with a chevy bell housing adapter. man o man.. I want this... but at $24,000 I think I'll pass.. anyone know jay lenno? maybe jesse james? now if there is some way i can stuff it into an anglia, its made for boats in italy, so maybe it should go in a boat tail speedster? polish that sucker head to toe.. man o man.. ok how do I get drool out of my keyboard?
doesn't anybody else get tired of seeing the same old BMW hemi engines in hot rods? Or the almost-as-ubiquitous Aston-Martion DOHC V12s?

I donno about trad but it is way too rich for my blood. A lot of times we get so caught up in trad that we miss of the stuff out there that is just fun to know about. I'd like to know more about it myself. Like power band, external dims, weight.
If you click on the link I posted above, then click on "dimensions" at the bottom it shows a blueprint...and a dyno sheet!! Flattest torque curve I can recall at around 800lbft and at 2500rpm it puts out 350hp rising to 750hp at 4800, with only 8.7:1 compression. Downside is dryweight is around 1200lbs.
Gary Kollofski is putting one in a '55 Chevy. Check post #43 http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=389535&page=3
the seller is a HAMBER and has some other very cool reasonably priced engines for sale. And every transmission adapter you can imagine.
EDIT: Man you guys are fast! I post way too slow. See below for my original post: Even though it's all aluminum block and heads, it still tips the scales at 1,212 pounds dry.... Can you imagine what it would weight in cast iron? Would need a hefty frame to hold it.
Here are some pictures of that motor in my latest project, a 55 Chev. Bel Air 2dr. Lost the Webers for 3ea. Holley 800cfm 4bbl's on a custom intake. The car is running and driving and should be completed by this summer. I have another BPM V12 for sale. It is on e-bay and listed @ 24.5K, but I'm open to offers. An adapter to mate any Chev. transmission and parts to make another 3x4 intake and flanges to make headers are included with the V12. Contact me if you are interested. The motor comes with Electromotive crank trigger ign. also. Gary 612-247-7081
The weight of the BPM V12 is in marine trim. That includes a cast iron transmission, a 100lb heat exchanger and marine log exhaust manifolds. I have not had a chance to weigh the one that is in the 55 but I'm guessing that it does not weigh more than a cast iron BBC with a supercharger. Gary
Hey Gary, nice engine!! Any chance you could give me the List # on those marine style Holleys??? I'd like to look those up in my Holley manual... Thanks bud!!
Be that as it may, they were a B---h to try to tune as they were individual runner for each port. Getting the throttle linkage to open all 6 carbs at once was nearly impossible. The engine runs so much smoother and better with the Holleys. I'm not a bit sorry that I switched to the Holleys.
When we moved the firewall back 8", we lost the front body mounts on each side. The tubular braces, on both sides replace them and really added the strength that we lost.
The only reason that I chose to use a marine version of the 800cfm Holley was a friend had 2 new ones that he sold at quite a discount and that left me having to buy only one new one. It's a #9022 marine Holley 800cfm. I believe that the only difference between the marine version of the 800DP and a regular 800, 4150 series Holley is the "J" vent tubes and possibly sealed throttle shafts.
