I did have a HAMB account but I rebooted my computer and lost my passwords and stuff and figured why not re introduce myself especially since I am new to Seattle and hopefully make some new friends.

My life story, born in Southern California, but raised in Gig Harbor, Washington (near Tacoma) and currently living in Seattle because I am studying at the University of Washington. I am currently 18 almost 19 and studying Economics, and yes its boring.

At 12, I bought a 1955 Chevy Pickup and worked on it with my dad for about 6 months and got bored and it sat with work off and on for the next 3 years until I wanted to sell it to buy a practical first car at 16. Below is a pic of the '55.

(And for the last 3 years I have kept in contact with the next owner and honestly one day I hope to buy it back from him)

I am a craigslist addict and scour it for at least an hour everyday (probably more) and I found a super nice '51 Chevy that just needed all the wood in the bed replaced and some simple odds and ends that I knew I could do and so I bought that.

I later sold that to finance buying a '34 Ford Pickup because I always loved them and I did more work on that than any other car ever. I did a lot of the body work. I had a friend tune the engine and all the running gear and another friend do a lot of fabrication for me.

(Figured I would throw in a picture of me)

I planned on keeping that truck for a long time but I had to sell the truck because I went to Western Washington University in Bellingham, WA and my parents didn't want it sitting in their garage when they were trying to move to Seattle.

And since I was accepted to the University of Washington I moved back in home and now had room to buy a car to work on and scored a deal on this 1950 Chevy Pickup with a rebuilt 235, that wasn't running at the time and got it towed to my house.

I got it fired up for the first time yesterday and hopefully get it on the road soon.

I don't really know anyone in Seattle since I just moved here and would love to meet some classic car people, I really enjoy traditional hot rods and customs and would love to stop by and just check out your cars even.

Plus if anyone who could help me would be very useful and don't worry although I am young and stupid, I am excited to learn.

Nice intro. We're out in Puyallup. There are a lot of rods in the area, just not so many on the street every day. Especially this time of year. Good luck on your truck. I like your taste in vehicles.

  10. Welcome from Woodinville! (though it sounds like you've been on this board longer than me) I'm a long-time road racer with the ICSCC, finally getting back to my '60 Starliner project. Come on out to Pacific Raceway some time this summer and say hi.
