I was looking at my off topic car ,Debating whether to pin stripe or not , Were early Fords pinstriped from 27 to 36 ,I know the more expensive cars had wild paint schemes ,Im just saying from the factory or a dealer
YES! The first Model T's were striped starting in 1909, don't know for sure about the pre T's. My 1912 may have had the most pinstriping when new.
Yes they had factory pinstriping, usually done with a "wheel" striper. I have seen factory stripes on original model A's and I think there is a picture of a striper in Henry's Lady. Model A restoration paint charts show stripe and wheel colors for the different paint combinations.
Earlier than Model T as well, we had a 1905 Model N that was striped all over the usual places that an early T would have. Earlier T-s than a 1912 would have been striped all over the rear axle as well 37 kid, you had the addition of doors though so it probably evens out! Had a good family friend with a very nice gennie 5000 mile 1935 coupe black with the factory apple green stripes almost buffed off over time, so yes, they had 'em too!
The early V8's had stripes along the raised belt line. Evidently the stripes weren't all exactly the same, it depended on the assembly plant and who was doing it. Some guys would get a little fancier than others.
