   So the battery has juice, have you checked the generator or alternator, if you can bump the starter with a hammer and try to see if it starts. Does it have a voltage regulator?

   Sounds like you have a path to ground from the hot side. Does anything get warm? Smell anything? Try the basic diagnostics and then disconenct one circuit at a time.
