Folks Of Interest The Brotherhood of the HAMB !,... And the entire HAMB Family !

  1. This has been the best place for me to be entertained with subject matter that I relate to.I have laughed my *** off and I have had tears rolling down my face (Hambandy). This place is why I have any computer skills. I have to say living where I do makes it harder to do this thing so the Hamb and all of you are the best Part of hot rodding for me (besides the cars) so thanks Ryan and all of you for creating this wonderful place That brings old and the young Together and keeps this thing alive. Pete.

  2. A great group of misfits for sure. Even that Frank guy ;)

I was just blown away by a gift from another HAMBer as well. He shall remain anonymous here but given due credit when the time is right.

The Hamb has enabled me to make many new friends, The "Anti Donut " breakfast is attended by a small group of great guys i wouldnt have met ,had it not been for the Hamb. Countless times ive recieved help, advice via PM's on this site. the comradeship amazes me . This site is more than a place to post, its a gathering of some of the best in the world of Hot Rodding.

Not only have I made a new friend or two this place reconnected me with an old one that I had lost contact with for several years ( John Denich).
    Thanks Ryan.

  5. Great post.

I haven't met anyone from the HAMB yet, but i hope to. Sometimes it can be intimidating for an under 30 newbie to come into this shark pond with the knowledge i know . I don't know as much as i want to but i feel like it grows every day when i read build threads and study pics like a nerd. Maybe ill meet a few of you at the GNRS. I see the friendships on here and i think its great. I love the fact that loud hunks of metal can bring people so close.

All great posts guys,... I know were all suppose to be "He-Man, Hot Rod, tough guys",... But friends are friends,.. and in my experiences,.. Hot Rod friends are the best. Anybody else ?

  15. My turn...

If not for the HAMB, I'd still be jockeying between billet-laden street rods and matching number Corvettes here in the armpit of the south.....just another 'nobody' car guy....the whole time thinking "there's GOTTA be something more out there".
    I found it. It's HERE.
But even MORE rewarding, I found my 'family'. The door swung open(thanks to my HAMB friends) and I've seen more and done more and learned more than I could have EVER were it not for a certain hokey-*** message board. ;)

Excuse me while I go get a tissue and renew my Alliance membership....

Very cool sign........It is amazing how much the HAMB has brought together a bunch of like minded hooligans "Steal our stuff, we'll kick your teeth in.".........I have MANY guys that I have stored/relayed stuff for over the last 10 years and guys that have stayed in our house (with greasy knuckles) while on the way to Texas or somewhere down south......all because of the HAMB......and my pop's has relayed parts to guys on the way to Kentucky & he has met alot of guys thru the HAMB.

Just a quick story for you:

Back in 2002 the HAMB was less than 1000 members and I was at the car event "Back to the 50's" and I had my old black HAMB shirt on and I had a couple of guys walk by and look over at me and give me the "fight club" head nod......haha.....and then I was chatting with some guy and he said I'm on that site, but I don't post because those guys are kinda' rough (keep in mind this guy was in his late 60's and I was in my early 30's).......but, he said that it was a cool site......the same time I meant "Continental John" via my t-shirt and we chatted about cars and metalflake and then BobK was cruising and saw me and said "Hop in the car son and quit your walking".......I think even that year I helped push TUCK in his Shoebox when his throwout bearing went out......good times and the power of a t-shirt and this crazy website.

    Back to the shop............

Really nice story, I am in CA and all of my family is back in PA, years ago (because of the HAMB) I met Skip-Royalshifter and I fondly refer to him as my CA dad... Skip, if you read this, you can pencil me into the inheritance as such ;)

Skip, and Kelly are the real deal, I couldn't have met a better pair of people.

  23. I don't travel well, however I am better than I used to be . I used to be literally crippled when it came to any kind of travel, and I still get nervous thinking of long trips as I used to do. I have a condition known as agoraphobia. So, the H.A.M.B. is a way for me to meet people living in places that I quite probably will never have the opportunity to do so. The H.A.M.B. is a encyclopedia of experiences and knowledge that I find so Damned Awesome, plus ................. you get to meet some really neat people.
Ryan, for this I thank you , and all of the others here on THE H.A.M.B.
    Later,

All very well said. I live a million miles away from most of you guys, so dont know anyone personally, but the feeling of unity is apparent when I read through some of the (often humorous) posts. That said I have met some great people through hot rodding, and have been sometimes over whelmed at the help, knowledge and sharing that has been given out.
    Keep this brotherhood alive!

WOW!!! I don't know how I stumbled on this after so much time, but glad I did. Harm's Way did tell me that he posted about the sign but somehow i didn't see this thread. I have to agree with what has been posted as the HAMB has exposed me to a whole new world of friends that I would not have ever known.
The sign for Harm's new shop was just one of those inspirational things that come over me from time to time and it was a way of letting him know I appreciate him as a new friend. Since meeting him we have shared some good times and come to realize we have a common bond. I won't say what it is here but if you ever see either one of us ask and we'll both be happy to bring you up to speed.
Thanks Ryan for starting this whole deal. You'll never know the full extent of the impact it's had on all of those who gather here.

I knew when I joined there was a reason just didnt know it at the time. I have gained more knowledge and heard more opinions, real life stories good and bad, hard knock lessons and to top it all off friends new and old that I would either never have met or became re aquainted with. A couple of my friends that I lost touch with just joined here a couple of weeks ago and if it wasn't for the HAMB we would not have reunited. So yes I would say there is a brotherhood here.

This place not only keeps me in touch with the past, but old friends as well. And the
opportunity to meet new friends with the same interests. Thanks!

    Great story, thanks for sharing.

Although I can not personally share a story like most already have, I wish one day I will too. Being a new guy to the cl***ic world, I truly just wanted to connect to a desire I've always had. My own cl***ic, like my grandpa had. Although I am still new, I have already learned a lot from the articles I've read, now I hope to meet people that I can call friends. Thanks HAMB.
