found this frame, literally at the bottom of a pile of junk on land my dad bought. The front wheels say Hudson, look like converted wood wheels. Rear end is obviously not original. Looks like it may have had mechanical brakes, and the springs are heavy duty. Can anybody help me with what it is, and what it's worth? thanks
looks like someone made some modifications, you can see where they moved the spring mount, doesnt look original, who knows.. s**** value imo
That rear crossmember says it's a Hudson like this one - http://forums.aaca.org/f170/old-flipped-car-296588.html - don't know the year but if you can find a number there are lists to verify it. Wheelbase might be a clue - could be anywhere from 118 1/2 in to over 130"
Hudson used those screw on aluminum hub covers all thru the 1920's. Changed to a more conventional grease cap and hub cap combo in 1928.
to a Hudsun guy, probably priceless 'don't know enough about them to date it but, it looks like mid to early thirties to me sad to say, in today's market, on this board, s**** DON'T DO THAT save or sell to a collector
I believe that's mid to late 20's Hudson/Es***. They used that odd parallel frame rail setup with the outriggers for the rear springs.
